Manchester United are thought to be closing in on a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Matheus Cunha.
According to European football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano the Red Devils have made an offer for the forward over the past 48 hours.
Cunha’s exceptional individual season for Wolves almost single-handedly dragged them to Premier League survival. But despite signing a new contract with the Molineux outfit in early February, the attacker has a release clause inserted into his contract – and that has seen United ‘close’ to a deal to land the forward.
Romano wrote exclusively for GIVEMESPORT on Monday morning that the Red Devils were accelerating in their move for Cunha, having made ‘progress in talks’ to land the attacker – and a deal for the ‘world-class’ star is in its final stages.
The Italian journalist stated that the Red Devils have prepared an important contract proposal for the Premier League star over the past 48 hours.
A positive outcome is expected, and it could see Ruben Amorim’s first deal of the summer as he looks to change United’s fortunes.

The Portuguese tactician has already approved Cunha’s arrival, as he is the ‘ideal’ candidate to play behind a prospective new striker next season, with further potential to improve further upon his campaign in the west Midlands.
United have subsequently sent him a contract proposal, aiming to get the deal over the line as soon as possible before any other clubs swoop – and GMS sources see the deal as having a ‘good chance’ of being finalised with Cunha’s signing not dependent on United’s result in the Europa League final on Wednesday against Tottenham Hotspur.
Furthermore, a report by Romano on X later on Monday claimed that United are now closing in on the deal to land Cunha, and the Brazilian has accepted the project – with an agreement on personal terms ‘being finalised’ and almost complete.
There are finer details to sort out between Cunha, Wolves and United ahead of his prospective move to Old Trafford, and once they are over the line, the attacker will be on his way to the Theatre of Dreams.
