@Bomboy,Ezenwa went down too early. Stats don’t lie. 2 games 0 goal conceded for Akpeyi, half a game, 1 goal for Ezenwa.

That goal was a defensive back pass error from slow and lazy John Ogu, Anyway they  need to up their game Madagascar wouldn’t be a walkover, John Ogu and Mikel killing the midfield, so they dropped ajayi for these guys lolllllll

I think Ogu was just included in this team for his loyalty and commitment. I can’t for sure say that he is better than Semi Ajayi.

Taking players to a major tournament because of their loyalty instead of their value and skill is not a very wise move as you can see!

Some people here usually praise Ogu to high heavens….

The simple fact is that we just have average, over-hyped and over-pampered players…

With what I’ve seen so far in this tournament, I can’t beat my chest we will go further.

I told you guys there are no more minnows in football, not to talk of our poor team.

We have few talented folks but no team work.

Watching Cameroon vs Ghana yesterday, I became more fearful.

I think I’ll lower my expectation henceforth.

      Rohr has failed.

So far this has been a completely rubbish first half performance.  That’s 3 games in a row now so this might be a pattern.  Its becoming clear that Mikel is not up to this and ogu has heen a disaster thus far.  I give him 70% of the blame for such a useless pass inside your box.  Ighalo should focus on staying on his feet and playing the ball instead of flopping at every opportunity.  Lets see what changes are made in the second half but so far im unimpressed

But is this a conspiracy by the referees I am seeing in this tournament so far. The players have been very rough. I mean what’s all this pushing and shoving. I have watched almost all the countries play, it’s appalling. Anyways, Mikel is a big problem. little or no attacking options going forward. I don’t know why Nigeria cannot play intelligent football. Bring Musa out, Mikel out pls

Etebo is the only player holding the midfield Ogu, Mikel and Ighalo may be playing their last game for the SuperEagles. The back pass from Ogu to Balogun was ridiculous to say the list, but Balogun should’ve done better by at least clear the ball. Some changes will be made let’s see how they react.

I warned them in this forum several times that all pretenders would be exposed in Egypt, imagine Madagascar exposing the great super Eagles, Madagascar goalie was not tested for 45minutes, Ighalo was busy falling down, old Mikel and sluggish Ogu were busy putting our defense under pressure with their back passes. All is not lost we can still redeem ourselves by bringing in fresh legs

Ridiculous first half. Absolutely nothing to write about. Can;t believe the display from the super eagles who are playing against mostly division 3 players. Those clamoring for mikel can clearly see that he is not the same player we know. Ogu am sorry needs to retire. The midfield needs to be jelled with better players. Ighalo to me is better off coming from the bench

Wow, it this sambisa 11 or super eagles? I still don’t get why the coach keeps playing mukel as an attacking midfielder, his role has always been as a defensive midfielder hence d reason why he is always coming back to get d ball. Play him and etebo in d defensive midfield if d coach intends not to use ndidi for d entire 90 mins. Bring in onyekyru for Musa. Bring in Samu to play d attacking midfield role if d coach intends on resting iwobi. To me this is an ideal match for onuachu to use his height and body frame to deal with d defenders who concurrently has igalo in dia pockets as they look stronger and bigger than him. Bring in onuachu for igalo. 9ja should easily win dis match. Balogun doesn’t seem to be in d mood today as his passes are wayward and he looks nervous after the blunder he caused but dis tins happen in football, he lost concentration there as he wanted he ball to roll past his body as a means of shielding d ball but d ball was a lil slow and d attacker intercepted it and d rest as dey say is history. We are winning this game by 2:1.

Ighalo is only a flash in the pan. No contribution to the overall play, just falling up and down. Poor ball controls, near near miss all the time. I am fed up right now. We have been optimistic but let’s face reality this time. This team goes no where with this kind of purposeless unintelligent football. Nobody should come for me o cos it won’t be funny.

This is what happens when you are playing against an organized team. They have a game plan and if we keep playing like this in the second have, Madagascar will win.

Musa is a smart guy. Why convating players? Every coach does that but I don’t buy that idea. Use the players in their positions. I won’t blamed Musa for that.

That referee doesn’t like Nigeria. Whenever he’s in charge of Nigeria match, he will make sure he does everything possible to put Super Eagles down.

However, I said this earlier this morning, if our opponents scored us first, how can we fight back? We can see clearly that this current the has no game plan. No direction. It’s not about hate. This is the truth. Let’s see how it’s end.

The service of Iwobi, Onuachu, Chukwueze, Onyekuru are needed in this match. I’m comparing this match to a world cup qualifier against Zambia.

This Madagascar team are not better than us but they have one thing that is troubling us in this match. They came in into the game to frustrate our team.

Where is Ayphillydegreat? You can see now that Oga na master? Stop the hates and against me and gba fun Oga ę.

I believed we can still win the match because we have what it takes to win the match. With God and right tactics from coach Rohr, all things are possible. God luck Super Eagles. God bless Nigeria!!!

I think people should now learn. Fact is everyone has their strengths,so many people can’t analyze our matches clearly without being affected by emotions.
It was clear the SEagles had not clicked, the football has been poor overall.Or in truth, how was our last match? Some of us have only been hoping that they would improve, not that there were no inexcusable flaws.
Omo9ja has been calling a spade a spade,o yes he sounds extreme at times, but it’s clear that he makes a lot of sense overall. Rohr doesn’t have an excuse that is tenable o. He has been with this team long enough.

He have stupid likeness for players just for personal reasons. Musa and victor moses took him these far and we think he is a magictian. I said many times azubuike won the caf award as most tilented young player he will be a good replacement for onazi which we are mixing now ok instead of mikel why not kelechi nwakali these are natural midlers with eagles vision. Etebo is not a miffielder he is a playmaker he is a 8 or winger siasia didnt play him in the midfield at olympic and he scored 4 goals in a match why is he now a blocking 4.? How can u have osihmen in the bench for ighalo or unuacho a. Osihme scored three goals to return nigeria to olympic contention. He scores in every training match yet u kept him he is the aghahuwa that could change the attack.. onyekuru? Where did he go wrong after winning turk title as a best player of his team. Good game. Respect to Madagascar. They played compact defense n quick attack. It worked for them. But I m happy for this, because it’s gonna bring out d best from d SE going into d knock out stages. Truth is, it’s a blessing in disguise. Now Rohr must realise Mikel, definitely no disrespect to his service to d national team, was a mistake bringing him back into d team. Mikel look lost in this team. Also Rohr made a monumental mistake of changing a winning team, a sign he under-rated Madagascar. History has always proven that changing winning team always produce a negative result. Again, Rohr has to realise that in d absence of good combination play to score goals which this team lacks, individual ability should be encouraged n this is where players like Chukweze must be unleashed on all our next opponents. This things happen in football, so won’t blame or condemn the coach or any player. The coach had good intentions to give fringe players a chance but sad it backfired. The two goals conceded had a hand of luck in them. Just wasn’t Nigeria’s day, as we got it wrong from beginning; EVEN WEARING THAT ‘SAME GREEN N GREEN JERSEY’.

Everybody that has defended this coach has a point and people like Omo9ja that have crucified him for so long also have a point.
It is very evident that the whole Nigerian players are not serious. Certainly, some players really do not have a business in this team. Anwaziem, Mikel, Ighalo, Ogu, all the 3 keepers are just taking the places of other more reliable players. Consistency is what makes good players stand out. I’m sorry, the entire Nigerian players lack consistency and that is why they fail to go far in competitions.
It is Rohr’s stubbornness that will kill him. He is a rigid coach who is not ready to be flexible. He is not ready to giver other keepers a chance in the super eagles and he is not ready to give other midfielders a chance in the team. He continues to stick with Ighalo even when Ighalo is not performing.
Many people like me may criticize Omo9ja for his excessive complaint about Rohr’s ways of doing things. However, this match has shown that Omo9ja is right about Rohr’s refusal to allow competition in the super eagles.
Like I have said, it is Rohr’s stubbornness that will kill him and at the end of the day Omo9ja will be proved right because of Rohr’s refusal to do what is right. This lack of competition in the super eagles being perpetrated by Rohr will blow up in his face and at the end of the day both his supporters and enemies will demand for his head.
Is is not a shame that Nigeria could not score a single goal against Madagascar! Rohr and the entire super eagles players need to do a soul searching.

      My take on this match.

Nigeria underrated them and as we felt we had qualified, what was the worse that could happen?

Playing against an organised team like this, it is always best to make sure they don’t score you first. We allowed them score first and that perfected their game plan of letting the super eagles see enough of the ball and waiting for a mistake to pounce on.

If super eagles needed this match to qualify, Madagascar wouldn’t have won this match. If by any chance we meet them again as the tournament progresses, it’ll be a different ball game entirely.

The Madagascar team had a game plan that simply worked for them, they didn’t play any amazing football. One thing they have is that they are good at taking their chances.

I agree with you that they didn’t play anything amazing. But isn’t it worrisome that our defenders make two costly mistakes that led to the 2 goals. How about Nigeria not having good set piece takers? So, if we can’t breakdown an organized Madagascar team, what will happen if we meet stronger teams like Egypt, Morocco,, Ghana, or Cameroon?
The players showed lack of seriousness in this match and it was very clear in their approach to this game. I also think it is high time we started pointing out Rohr’s excesses and wrong doing. , if not, we might be in for a rude shock in this nations cup.

Egypt, Cameroun, Ghana won’t play negative football. It’ll be easier to play them because it’ll be an open affair.

Don’t ever let a team that plays negative football score you first, or else you are done for.

The coach himself sold this match to his in laws with a very wrong approach and the players came into the match with an underrating mindset and poor attitude.

This team lacks poise, panache, gait and technical prowess. Going forward we lack confidence and it’s become a psychological fear. All thanks to coach rhor. Posterity will judge

Onyekuru a top player in Turkey champions Chukwueze and players like this have not been given a fair chance. In this squad why is Musa so untouchable in Rohrs squad why did Ighalo play all 90 mins why has Onyekuru not kicked a ball this entire tournament all these are questions this coach has to answer granted Omeruo and Ndidi not starting Made a big impact how can Kalu a player that has not played club football since Jan start ahead of Chukwueze and how can Musa start ahead Of Onyekuru in a game tht was meant for Onyekuru to get match fit. Absolutely unacceptable from the coach

Hard way is the only way out now as we may likely meet Ghana or Cameroon in the last 16. Nigeria can surprise you when you have written them off. Its really a sad evening for all. To me this lost is a wake up call and came at the right time. Coach Mr Rohr should learn one or two things from this match. If ogu was not used and we lost many would have blamed the coach for not using him. I think chukwueze started well in the first match and should be considered. Oga Mikel please your time is over and I don’t expect to see you in our next game. No more mistake. Ghana or Cameroon will open up the game and we can do some damage. Congratulations to Madagascar for playing real good and exposing our weakness. Don’t write this Super Eagles off yet a surprise awaits us in the last 16. Cheer up everyone and be positive

When I saw the lineup had Ogu, Mikel, Ighalo and Ezenwa, I became sceptical. One would have played Onyekuru, Osimhen, Chukwueze etc. We really had nothing to lose. The Nigerian web space is already messed up/saturated presently with the Timi, his wife and COZA cacophony, now this??? I can’t deal abeg.

The Truths: Oyinbo wall shattered, Mikel at an End time Ogu should never come anywhere near the SuperEagles after this tournament.  Chukwueze is better than ALL our wingers, how is he not playing??? Ighalo is not going to deliver in this AFCON. I thought Osimhen or Onuachu should’ve started the game.

The 5 changes to the lineup affected the team. I’m not losing confidence in the team yet and I owe no body any apology for today’s loss because we haven’t crashed out of the tournament yet. Most of the people now crying are the ones complaining that the coach should make changes and give other players a chance.

I thought Onyekuru should’ve played this game. It was obvious that we underrated Madagascar and they surprised us. Rohr made a mistake by not sticking to his winning team. That is a massive lesson going forward which should keep us on our toes. No body ever claimed that the SuperEagles are going to win the AFCON. Fact remains we didn’t qualify for the last two AFCON so reaching the knockout stage is an achievement in itself

I’m glad this happened now. Of course there will be a lot soul searching heading into the knockout as we will most likely play Ghana which going to be a tough game. VAMOS ARRIBA SUPEREAGLES!!!

Mikel is Slow, Ogu is Slow, Etebo is Heavy but the best among the three…that was the first error we made in this game because…all our previous games were won from the midfield.

When Nigeria won her first two games, I waited to hear from the Rohr haters. They were nowhere to be found. Today, Nigeria lost a “dead rubber” game. A game that has no significance, as we had already qualified from the group. And voila! The Rohr haters are now coming out of the woodwork! Yes, Nigeria lost today due to tactical errors. Our players huffed and puffed, but poor tactics was their undoing. Also, this SUPER ATTACK that we thought we had – looks like it exists only on paper! To go thru 90 minutes without really testing the Madagascar goalie is unacceptable. Having said that, Madagascar executed their game plan to near perfection. But the Barea were also very fortunate. The two goals they scored came with huge slices of fortune. Going forward, we must place emphasis on DEFENSE, as this is the foundation on which any possible success for us will be built. The 3-5-2 system looks like the optimal system for this bunch. Even if we decide to go with a back four, we need to still focus on defense. Soak up pressure from the opponent, and hit them on the counter. We just don’t have the creativity or the ruthless finishing ability going forward. So playing attacking football will not work. It will rather make us vulnerable to swift counter attacks.
Regarding Rohr, I say let us see where we end up first. Until then, sheath your swords. After the competition, win or lose, then Rohr’s fate will be decided. Until then, as fans, we MUST support the coach and the team……TO THE END.

We don’t criticise for the fun of it. I love the coach, but I am not so blinded that can’t see his flaws. Moreover, you just admitted that our attack is only good on paper, so why are you against those who knew all along and voiced it?

Now we want to kill Rohr over this game, even though we have qualified from the group? I do appreciate your civility though. hanks for your mature comment. My take

We lacked understand.. Rohn is paying so much attention to social media.as a good coach you do what is right and not what the public desires.. He is becoming too predictable. Everybody knew he was going to play Mikel, ogu and balogu today and he did.

He couldn’t make the right changes because he had to bring ndidi and iwobi in place of ogu and Mikel respectively that’s wasting two substitution already.. He surely underrated Madagascar and did what everyone predicted.. Even the Madagascar coach knew he would make the chances.

Our fullbacks were not in this match. It showed awaziem and aino are not in their natural positions.awaziem in particular doesn’t offer any attacking threat.. We need Collins badly for our next match to bring stability to our play.
Finally I would say this lose is eye opener. It has shown beyond reasonable doubt that Mikel’s time is over same with ogu. Ighalo should also be benched for a younger striker. Kalu is also not looking so sharp. Samuel chukweze is far better..
Lets all calm down and not forget Madagascar were the first to qualify for afcon. They are truly a good side

Supported we need Collins badly to take over the left back so that Aina should go to the right. Omerue is expected back to stabilise the central defense. Ndidi should continue his partnership with etebo, we will manage Iwobi in attacking midfield though he’s not the best and very inconsistent. I still go with musa cos he shows up in big games then igalo and chukwueze, onyekuru and osimhen can lighten up things in 2nd half. We still have opportunity to make amends. Ghana if we meet them are not fantastic too and is anybody’s game.

In my opinion, that is what fans do. In the premiership, when teams get relegated, see the way the fans clap and show appreciation for the team. It is not that they enjoy losing. No. They are just showing their support, in good times or bad. Sunnyb, your comment shows that you are a FAIR WEATHER FAN. Only supporting the team when things are good. Guys do u think the financial dispute played a part in d outcome of today’s match? I don’t wanna blif so as these guys are professionals and this isn’t the 1st time d NFF is owing players, not that am encouraging such action but I still think it may have a small role albeit minimal impact. Moving forward I blif players like azubuike, k.nwakali (we can’t use only one poor match to judge d guy otherwise igalo shouldn’t be anywhere near d team after world cup), bonaventure (to compete with iwobi in dat creative position). Another thing that is boggling my mind is our constant need to play 2 defensive midfielder against all teams regardless of dia strength (ndidi, ogu, etebo, mikel are all defensive midfielders at dia respective clubs). We play 4 at d back most times and still play 2 defensive midfielders where will d creativity come from. The coach should stop being too conservative. I see no reason why if we r playing 433 why we cant play a combo of ndidi-iwobi-samu? I understand d need to try some players and I commend d coach for dat but where he got it wrong was the new players he introduced. Chima said and rightly so why even take kalu to the competition knowing he last played in January and add to d fact that he collapsed during training and u have fit onyekuru and chukwueze but d coach elected to use kalu instead, ofu brings something different to d team but today’s game was not for him cos d 3 midfielders (all defensive mind u where in each others way as dats d roke dey play at club level). Just my opinion tho.

I have no problem with anyone who have issues with the coach and his tactics. However, present your arguments constructively not by attacking others with insults. If anyone starts an insult then they shouldn’t be mad if we return the favor. Until we’re eliminated from the tournament I stand by the team and the gaffer. Onyekuru was just brought here to warm the Bench such a shame what a wasted talent and to think he actually needed this Afcon to help his work permit chances which was another added reason he would have tried to out do himself rather Gernort Rohr wastes him on the Bench and starts Musa all the time. it is Sad very Sad we have a coach like this that is as Clueless as a headless Chicken

Some of us who has refused to support journeyman Rhor are simply men of our convictions.
Some of us know the difference between good and fair, better and best.
      Selfbelief is a virture.

Rhor is an illegal immigrant who was smuggled in through Garbon and Niger republic or Benin, I cant remeber which one.

A journeyman who has gambled with two different African nations and never made it to the quater finals, suddenly was brought here by Pinnick as a messiah without out any credentials.

If he is so super a coach, why did he not qualify any of the previous countries for the world cup like Keshi did with Togo?

Nigeria is a nation where people are so used to “manage”.
Mediocrity is part of their DNA.
That is why a professor Man of God will lie to defend and deputize a mallam without WAEC or SSCE certificate.

Point of correction as much as you have a problem with Rohr he guided Gabon to the quarterfinals of the AFCON in 2012. He can be a journeyman but he has brought some light into the SuperEagles since we reached bottom after failing to qualify for two consecutive AFCON. Rohr will not be the SuperEagles coach forever whatever happens after this AFCON will be decided by those who employ him not you.
