Abraham Linked With Aston Villa Return

Chelsea outcast Tammy Abraham has been linked with a return to Aston Villa with the striker ‘sad and angry’ at the Blues.

Abraham has fallen out of favour since Thomas Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard in January and a Villa Park reunion is reportedly on the cards.

The 23-year-old has not played for the Blues since February and he wasn’t even in the squad for Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final win against Manchester City.

He does not appear to be in Tuchel’s plans and his spot in Gareth Southgate’s Euros squad is undoubtedly at risk given his lack of game time.

And according to Birmingham Mail, his old club Villa are keeping tabs on the situation ahead of a potential summer move.

Abraham scored 26 goals in 40 games on loan at Villa to help fire the club back to the Premier League in the 2018-19 season.

He is said to retain several admirers at Villa Park with Dean Smith expected to target attacking reinforcements at the end of this campaign.

The Chelsea academy product has scored 12 goals in 30 matches for the Blues this season.

But the six-cap star has been sidelined by Tuchel who revealed Abraham’s anger and upset at the situation.

Speaking after his side’s 1-0 Wembley win on Saturday, he said: “Everybody is concerned when they’re not in the squad but it’s never an easy decision for me to take.

“I have a lot of sympathy for him and I can understand that he is worried and sad and maybe angry with me when I make these decisions.

“Sometimes we spend almost an hour talking after the last training which decisions to take and which players we have to leave at home because it’s thin margins which decide.

“Tammy has had this decision now a few times against him which is never personal but this is life at Chelsea sometimes as a player.

“I hope that he does not get lost in too many thoughts because he knows not to be too concerned about his situation.

“Everything he can do is stay focused and stay with belief because the situation for a striker can change in minutes. We have an important training coming up and my decisions are not made yet.”

Lol….@jimmyball. No mind am. I don’t pity him him one bit. He deserves whatever he’s getting now. I’m not angry bcs he turned us down but what pierced my heart was the way he and the other lost sheep (Tomori) went about it on twitter, indirectly demeaning us whilst expressing their excitement. It hurt me badly but u know, karma is a bitch. What goes around comes around!

Think of boomerang. It was really bewildering to witness a man belittling his own people. I hid my face in shame.

Spot on @KangA. I was really hurt deep inside me. He made it look as if we were worthless. These fools would never learn. Just look victor moses’ illustrious career with us of which if he never made that decision to play for us he would never have been to the world cup whilst playing an active role and a nations cup medal to spice it up.

  • He should borrow a leaf from iheanacho who went through a similar thing in Leicester but he overcame it with hard work and determination. Abraham is a talented young man who scores goals, it wont be a problem finding suitors for him. But I think he can still get into the Chelsea team if he remains focused and show the manager his determination.

    • I pity him because he will not play in Euro Championship this year. He must pray harder because once a player is out of the three lion’s, is not easy to be recalled back. This should be a big lesson to all Wannabes.

Abraham is a very good striker all he needs to do is to move to a mid table team in the premiership at least to guarantee regular playing time.
He has scored everywhere he played,I’m surprise he’s not in Tuchel’s first team but I’m optimist he would make it elsewhere with a smart choice.
I believe when he starts scoring again he would get in the England’s team that could be before or after the Euros.

Thank God, this guy had chosen not to play for Nigeria. He thought so much about himself at the time. He is now looking at Iheanacho, Osimhen and Ounacho and wondering how come they are doing so well and he is so bad and going down the pipe ? Going to Aston Villa is where Abraham actually belong.

  • This is Abraham’s personal business. If he were a Nigerian, Nigerians would have rallied round him. Rohr could have advised him and even facilitated a move for him to another club, if need be. But he is not a Nigerian international. So England fans and Southgate should do the needful….lol

  • He will never play for england. He will never play a work cup

  • I think he will bounce back by moving to a mid table club or moving abroad like Tomori.

As it stands, his chances of making the Euros is up in the air and he face an uphill task in forcing his way into the England squad subsequently, even if he get a new club unless he hit the ground running like Jesse Lingard

The super Eagles would have held his hands at this point and help him build his confidence like Musa, Kelechi and others during his lean period.

Hope Eze and the other English born players are observing and taking notes.Though I read about Eze singing a new song on another platform and glorifying his relationship with Amaju Pinnick( Dude is realizing that he will not make the Euros) But in truth,it is getting late now as his place have been taken by Micheal Olise.

Even Tomori agent is testing the waters on his chance of playing for Nigeria.
