Ajax Braced For Inter Interest In Van De Beek

Ajax midfielder Donny Van de Beek is set to be a target for Italian Serie A outfit Inter Milan in next summer’s transfer window, according to reports. The 22-year-old has become a key player for the Dutch giants having worked his way to the first-team ranks through the club’s academy.

Van de Beek has gone on to score 34 goals in 149 appearances in all competitions for Ajax, with three of those coming in 11 outings so far this term.

There was some expectation that the youngster would leave the Johan Cruyff ArenA in the summer on the back of his performances last term.

Van de Beek bagged 17 goals, including the winning strike against Tottenham in the Champions League semi-final first leg in north London.

Spurs hit back in Amsterdam in the return leg to seal their place in June’s final, but the impressive displays of Erik ten Hag’s side resulted in several being linked with big-money moves.

Matthijs De Ligt, Frenkie De Jong and Kasper Dolberg all departed for pastures new and Van de Beek seemed set to follow suit.

Inter, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Barcelona were all heavily linked with a move, despite Ajax hoping to pick up a hefty €80million for his signature.

However, he ended up staying put with Ajax, but there are already reports surfacing that Inter will resurrect their interest in him in the future.

Reports claim the Serie A will not swoop in January, but wait until next summer when van de Beek will only have one year left on his contract with Ajax and could be offloaded for a smaller fee.
