Akpom’s Brace In Middlesbrough Home Win Takes League Goals To 16

Chuba Akpom scored twice in Middlesbrough’s 3-0 home win against Blackpool to take his goals in the Championship to 16 this season.

The 27-year-old has scored three goals in his last two games in the English second-tier division.

His brace against Blackpool means he still tops the Championship scoring chart.

Akpom opened the scoring in the 32nd minute before putting his side 2-0 ahead on 59 minutes.

Patrick McNair then added the third goal for Middlesbrough with 20 minutes left to play.

It is now back-to-back wins for Middlesbrough who have scored five goals and conceded non in their last two games.

Middlesbrough, on 48 points, move up to third place and are 10 points adrift of automatic Premier League qualification spot on the log.

    Akpom Pazzer Mazzer. Akpom Pazzer Mazzer… You are destined for greatness with Nigeria. You are far better than most other Super Eagles strikers. Come and score goals aplenty for Nigeria.

  • @ Ignatius. What are you talking about. Keep in mind that akon is playing in the lower league. Second division for that Matter.lf he really wants to prove himself that he’s better than the strikers that we have in the current super eagles then he needs to be playing in the premier league and be scoring goals week in and week out. Other than that, I’m not impressed with akpom at this point. Personally, playing in the 2nd division is not cutting it…

    Osimhen just banged in 2 goals …. Honestly the next African footballer of the year is between him and ziyech and Hakimi…..There’s no other hotter African in the top 5 leagues right now…
