Al Hilal Coach, Adam: We’ll Finish Enyimba Ousting Job In Omdurman

Al Hilal Coach, Adam: We’ll Finish Enyimba Ousting Job In Omdurman

Salah Mohamed Adam – head coach of Al Hilal Omdurman, has boasted that his side will finish the job of dumping Enyimba out of the 2019/20 CAF Champions League when they host the reverse fixture in a fortnight, Completesports.com reports.

The Sudanese put up a resilience performance in the first leg of Second Preliminary Round against Enyimba in Aba on Sunday and earned a shock goalless draw.

Adam spoke to Completesports.com moments after his 10-man side soaked all the pressures from the two time champions to secure a valuable away draw.

“It’s a very exciting match. Enyimba is a very big team in Africa. We have our respect for them,” an excited Adam remarked.

“We had our desire and objectives coming into the game. All of you know the situation in our country, Sudan.

“And for this reason, our preparation for this competition was not as usual. We didn’t have a good preseason.

“We lost about 15 of our players to their national teams and it proved very difficult for us playing against Enyimba here in Aba.

“We tried to do our best tactically to stop the attackers of Enyimba and we are happy the way the game went.

“We are now going to finish the work in our country in the return leg match.”

Al Hilal players felt at home on the pitch of the Aba Stadium. And coach Adam revealed the synthetic turf equally aided their game plan.

“The pitch here (Aba) helped us very, very much to put up this performance,” Adam added.

“The pitch is very, very good and it helped us very well.”

The return leg match comes up in Sudan on Saturday, September 28 with the winner over the two legs progressing to the group stage of the $2.5m CAF Champions League while the loser over the two legs drops to the second tier CAF Confederation Cup.

Enyimba must need an outright win or a score draw in the battle Omdurman to progress to the group phase of the competition.

Hilal got to this stage on the strength of away goal rule following a 1-1 draw against Rayo Sports of Rwanda in Kigali with both teams settling for a scoreless draw in Omdurman in the return leg match.

Shame !!!!! Not even while playing against 10 men. Is this really Enyimba? I cant imagine. I feel so utterly gutted right now. They should simply save themselves the flight cost and the trouble kf going to Sudan.
