Kwara United goalkeeper Suraj Ayeleso has candidly admitted that Bendel Insurance outplayed his side during their 2–1 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) defeat at the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin on Sunday.
Following a goalless first half, the match burst into life shortly after the break. Stephen Gideon put Kwara United ahead in the 49th minute, but the hosts’ lead was short-lived as Kayode Oke restored parity for the visitors just three minutes later.

Bendel Insurance capitalized on their momentum in the 55th minute, with Chinedu Nwosu scoring the decisive goal to turn the game around and secure all three points for the away side.
Speaking after the final whistle, Ayeleso expressed disappointment over failing to build on their previous positive result while praising the tactical discipline of the opposition.
“It’s quite unfortunate that we were unable to build on the away point we gained in Kano in the match against Bendel Insurance.

“I will have to commend Bendel Insurance. They really outplayed us as they showed maturity.”
Despite the setback on home turf, the shot-stopper emphasized that Kwara United must learn from the defeat as they prepare for their upcoming fixtures.
“We will work on the positives and address the lapses identified in the game.”
