Ancelotti Makes Champions League History After Madrid’s Dramatic Win Vs Man City

Carlo Ancelotti made Champions League history after leading Real Madrid to a dramatic comeback win against Manchester City in Wednesday’s second leg semi-final clash.

Trailing 1-0 with just a minute left to play, substitute Rodrygo pulled a goal back before making it 2-1 in two minutes of added time.

And in the fourth minute of extra time Karim Benzema converted from the penalty spot to put the home side 3-1 up.

All efforts to get back into the game proved futile as Madrid held on to progress.

Madrid’s win means Ancelotti has reached his fifth UEFA Champions League final (2003, 2005 and 2007 with AC Milan, 2014 and 2022 with Real Madrid).

It is the most of any manager in the competition’s history.

At the weekend, Ancelotti became the first manager ever to win league titles in Europe’s top five leagues after Madrid were crowned LaLiga champions.

He will become the first coach to win four Champions League titles if Madrid beat Liverpool in next month’s final.
