Joe Aribo scored his first goal of the season but it was not enough as a late Jordan Ayew strike earned Leicester a dramatic 3-2 win at struggling Southampton in Saturday’s Premier League game.
Also in action were Paul Onuachu, who came on for Southampton in the 68th minute and Wilfred Ndidi, who played for 90 minutes in the Foxes colours.
Ndidi made his ninth league appearances with four assists while it was Onuachu’s second league game with no goal.
Aribo, who made his eight league appearance of the season, scored on 28 minutes to put Southampton 2-0 ahead going into the break.
Facundo pulled a goal back for Leicester on 64 minutes before Jamie Vardy leveled the score from the penalty spot in the 74th minute.
Then in the 98th minute Ayew snatched the winner to help his side with the three points.
Following the defeat, Southampton are rooted bottom on just one point with no win after eight games.
For Leicester, they temporarily move up to 13th place on nine points.
At Craven Cottage Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey returned from their AFCON 2025 qualifying ordeal in Libya but ended on the losing side as Fulham lost 3-1 to Aston Villa.
Both Super Eagles stars played for 90 minutes as Fulham have now lost back-to-back league games.
Before the international break, the London club fell to a 3-2 defeat at Manchester City.
Villa have now gone nine straight games (seven wins, two draws) unbeaten.
