Bafana Bafana of South Africa departure for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Mexico has been postponed due to visa-related issues, The South African reports.
The team was scheduled to leave the country on Sunday as preparations intensified for their opening match against hosts Mexico on 11 June.
According to some reports, the squad and technical team are still waiting to receive their visas. Head coach Hugo Broos is reportedly the only member of the travelling contingent who has obtained his visa.
The delay could have a significant impact on Bafana‘s preparations. The team had planned to hold a 10-day altitude training camp before the tournament, but those plans may now be disrupted depending on how quickly the visa situation is resolved.
