Balogun Recovers From Injury, Set For Crystal Palace Test

Brighton & Hove Albion manager , Chris Hughton has disclosed that the club’s Nigerian defender Balogun is available for selection again after spending close to a month on the sidelines, reports Completesports.com.

Balogun, 30, has missed the Seagulls last four games in all competitions due to a shoulder injury he picked up in training.

He last featured for the club in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round replay clash against West Bromwich Albion which they won 3-1.

Hughton revealed in a media conference on Thursday that the centre- back is
is fully fit and will be part of the team for the game against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

“At this moment only Pascal Gross is unavailable this weekend. “We’ll see how it goes this week, he’s not training but has been doing some good work.

“He has a chance for @MillwallFC. “Leon Balogun is now back in training.”

Balogun who linked up with Brighton on a free contract from German side, FSV Mainz last summer has struggled for regular playing time at club making eight league appearances so far with a goal to his name.

He was named in Nigeria’s squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Seychelles and the friendly clash against the Pharaohs of Egypt in Asaba.

Brighton & Hove Albion will look to build on their positive result at the Amex last weekend, when Chris Hughton’s side take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The Seagulls secured their first Premier League victory of 2019 last weekend when Florin Andone’s second-half header dispatched Huddersfield Town 1-0 on the south coast, which moved Albion five points clear of the relegation zone.
