Barca Presidential Candidate Pledges To Make Bellerin Top Transfer Target

Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta has reportedly made supporters a promise that he will bring Hector Bellerin back to the Nou Camp.

Laporta, 58, is to stand in next year’s elections as the Spanish giants look for a successor to Josep Maria Bartomeu.

And has started to outline his plans as he canvases for backing from the masses.

According to the Mirror as part of his grand ambitions Laporta – who is favourite to win the election – has placed Arsenal full-back Bellerin as his top transfer target and early discussions have already started.

It is claimed that an offer in the region of £22million, plus add-ons, is set to be put to Arsenal in hope of securing a deal.

Bellerin arrived in north London in 2011 to join Arsenal’s academy as a 16-year-old, after the Gunners plucked him from Barca’s famed Masia youth system.

Now 25, Bellerin is said to still have an emotional attachment to Barca despite having grown into a man in north London and developed an English accent which is heavily influenced by the capital.

Bellerin’s current Arsenal contract is not set to expire until the summer of 2023, meaning the Gunners are in a strong position when it comes to potential negotiations.

During his time in England Bellerin has won three FA Cup winners medals with the Gunners.
The news will bring concern to Arsenal fans however, with their side already producing its worst ever start to a Premier League season.

After 14 matches played Arsenal have won just four, drawn two and lost eight.

The English giants find themselves wallowing in 15th place in the division as a result, only four points above the relegation zone.
