UPDATE: Iheanacho’s Goal Vs Southampton Sends Leicester To First FA Cup Final In 52 Years

Kelechi Iheanacho was the hero for Leicester City as his goal secured a 1-0 win against Southampton and a first FA Cup final appearance for the Foxes since 1969, Completesports.com reports.

It was Iheanacho’s 15th goal of the season in all competitions and his now the first Nigerian to achieve the feat for a Premier League club since Odion Ighalo scored 17 in 2015/2016 for Watford.

Ịheanachọ has now scored more goals this season than any other Leicester City player. Also in action for Leicester was Wilfed Ndidi who played for 90 minutes.

The in-form Super Eagles striker scored the only goal of the game in the 55th minute off an assist from Jamie Vardy.

He slotted his effort past Southampton keeper after his initial effort from Vardy’s low cross came off a defender.

He becomes the only player to score against Southampton in this season’s FA Cup.

Leicester will be hoping to clinch a first ever FA Cup title when they face Chelsea in next month’s final inside Wembley stadium.

In Saturday’s first semi-finals, Hakim Ziyech’s second half strike sealed a hardfought 1-0 win for Chelsea against Manchester City.

    Greater things you’ll do.

  • Kelechi on the beat again….all he needs is game time and he will score, form or no form…Look for a way to put him in the team and give him game time…kele has always been a natural goal scorer all he needed was game time which he lacked due the competition in his adopted position….am happy now that the coach has figure it out that he is not a number 9 but a player who just need to be present in the attacking 3rd of the opponent area to inflict maximum damage

    • Your head dey there bro!!! Iheancho is no striker, he is just a danger to the opposition in the box 18! His coach has woken up, and the team is reaping the benefits… I pray that Osimhen will leave that useless Napoli or another coach will come in and discipline the selfish team to play some coordinated football that will maximize Osimhens talents….
