Brighton defender Ezequiel Schelotto is looking ahead to pre-season as he tries to overcome the knee injury which ruined his season. The right-back has a year left on his contract at the club and is working hard to get himself fit for pre-season so he can try and work his way into new boss Graham Potter’s plans.

A cruciate knee injury ended a mid-season loan move to Chievo after he fell down the pecking order under Chris Hughton but he is working hard and hoping to be ready for next season. Schelotto said: “It’s a tough moment for a footballer to suffer an injury like that.
I’d just turned 30 and it was the first time I’d had such a serious injury. “I snapped my cruciate ligaments but three months have gone. “If all goes well, in a month I will start again with the team in England and the idea is in the fifth month to start playing some football.”
