BUNDESLIGA: Awoniyi Subbed Off As Bayern End Union Berlin’s Unbeaten Home Run 

Taiwo Awoniyi was in action but fired blanks as Bayern Munich defeated Union Berlin 5-2 in Saturday’s Bundesliga game, Completesports.com reports.

The result means Bayern have ended Union Berlin’s 21-game unbeaten home run in the Bundesliga.

Awoniyi, who have been in fine goal scoring form, was replaced in the 64th minute.

It was his 10th league appearance for Union Berlin this season with seven goals to his name.

A brace from Robert Lewandowski and a goal each from Thomas Muller, Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sane, saw Bayern bounce back from the 5-0 humiliating defeat to Monchengladbach in the German Cup last week.

Bayern return to the top on 25 points while Union Berlin are in sixth position on 16 points.

    Union defence gave bayern so much respect. The defenders gave bayern so much chance to attack. Awoniyi was quite impressive, stood his ground against bayern defenders and the few chances he had,he did pretty well.
