The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has condemned the inhumane treatment the Super Eagles were subjected to in Libya.
The players and their officials were stranded at the Al Abaq Airport for several hours following their arrival in the North African country for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday four encounter.
CAF said it view the incident in a serious light.

“The matter has been referred to the CAF Disciplinary Board for investigation and appropriate action will be taken against those who violated the CAF Statutes and Regulations”.

Libya only want to evade being defeated hence dey employed the method.
The fear of losing and remaining on one point after 4 games makes. Dem acted like this .
@Sportradio, you got the point. Libya knew that they would surely lose even if they park bus again in front of their fans. They can’t imagine the shame and just use ideas ran away from playing Nigeria.
Shame on Libya.
CAF please penalize them asap.
How can you say that? So what about their well known previous form?? Or you did not hear about what they did and are still doing to the Nigerians in their country? What has that kind of wickedness got to do with winning or losing football matches??
Let’s be clear about things and not be complacent and allow our enemies free reign to hurt us and continue doing so – why is it so hard for us Nigerians to face the truth and call a spade a spade?
Libyans are evil people, like most of the Arab world and most of the rest of this evil world that isn’t African – racism and unfair treatment is rife and we must call BS and put our foot down or else it will continue and our children will go through the same nonsense! We must not allow such!
Replay on a neutral ground should be applied. Nonsense
My concern is that, by CAF rules, their offense attracts only a fine, while our failure to endure their treatment and play the game no matter what will attract a walk over and losing 3 points to the Libyans. That will happen tomorrow. After tomorrow’s matches in the group, Benin will be on 9 points if they win their game, while Nigeria will drop to 2nd position with 7 points.
Bro, there is no way the match would be awarded to the Libyans. Why did the Libyan authorities not give us a permit to land in BENGHAZI, the venue for the game?, they diverted us to Al Abaq, a remote town 240 km from Benghazi, and left us there stranded for 16 hrs, they want us to go to Benghazi by road when we should have flown in directly by air, Libya could be banned from hosting international games if CAf wants to be fair on this issue.
Top 2 nations, not the first only in World cup qualifiers, will qualify for the nations cup. So, we still have a chance if we forfeit three points
If CAF awards 3 points, it standd unfair to the game of football.
There will be a replay of the match at a neutral ground like south Africa.
Libya are in for a trouble. FÍFA will sanction CAF, CAF will reat.
@Akins, if you were a human, would you still go ahead and play the match?
This is really funny. Medival tactics in the 21st century….but I don’t think something commendable will emerge aftermath of the CAF proclaimed investigation because CAF ironically is a puppet of North Africa. I don’t see disciplinary action taken against them.

God bless football loving Nigerians.
One love.
