The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), National Association of Nigeria Theatre Art Practitioners (NANTAP), Fuji Musician Association of Nigeria (FUMAN) and Gospel Musician Association of Nigeria (GOMAN) are among participants that will feature at the maiden edition of the Lagos Entertainment Association Games and Awards (LEAGA) 2026.
This was disclosed by organisers of the event Francosh Group and Studio 18, at a press briefing, held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, in Lagos.
Other participants include Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Guild of Nigeria Dancers (GOND), Deejays Association of Nigeria (DIJAN), Q Dance Centre, Verdant Zeal, Brila FM, Pulse NG, Citizens Voice FM and Star/MITV Plus.
With the theme: Celebrating, creativity, wellness, collaboration and economic growth through sportainment, LEAGA 2026, Nigeria’s first ever Sportainment Festival, will come up on September 22nd to September 26, 2026.
In collaboration with the Lagos State government, through the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) and tagged the Olympics of Entertainment, the inaugural edition will take place at three different venues in Lagos – Yabatech Sports Centre (Yaba) , Rowe Park (Yaba) and Studio 18 Hub (Gbagada).
The 13 participants will take part in 12 sports, namely: football (male and female), basketball, table tennis, tennis, Ludo, Draughts, arm wrestling and ayo olopon.
Others are sack race, 100 metres (male and female), 200 metres (male and female), 4×100 metres (mixed), tug of war, snooker and scrabble.
Also present at the briefing were representatives of LEAGA corporate partners – Mutual Aids Specialist (MAIDS), Salonpas, Pocari Sweat and Hazzat Homes.
In his remarks chairman Studio 18 Oladeinde said:”It is the convergence of the creative and entertainment sector players. Filled with fun, networking, wellness, business and a lifestyle blend of sports and entertainment.
“It is a festival of 12 indoor and outdoor games, a registered participation of over 13 organisations, with six entertainment associations, two media houses, one creative tourism agency and creative marketing communication agency, a dance centre amongst others.
“So, from the 22nd to the 26th of September, 2026, Africa through the prism of Lagos, will experience the celebrations of icons, ambassadors and legends of the creative sectors with the blend of sports, with the mission statement to annually create an ecosystem where sport, entertainment, business and culture intersect to promote healthy lifestyle, industry collaboration, talent discovery, economic opportunities and community impact across Nigeria creative sector.”
“I want to say thank you for coming around, it is one of those things that is being expected in Lagos because Lagos lead others follow. Starting from today the news is around the whole country of Nigeria because it is going to be the first time we are going to have sport and entertainment coming together and what is like, it is the brain, the mind and for us to entertain ourselves apart from making people life because when your heart pumps very well you are entertained.
“With the conjunction of the Lagos State government we said we should just have this and it is going to be a pilot scheme so please advice us in areas where we didn’t get it right but surely we will get there.”
