The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has unveiled the Best XI of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, with no Super Falcons player making the selection.
Nigeria endured a disappointing campaign at the tournament, bowing out at the quarter-final stage following a 1-0 defeat to eventual champions Cameroon.
It marked the first time the 10-time African champions failed to reach the semi-finals of the continental showpiece.
Cameroon dominated the Best XI with four players following their impressive run to the title.
Goalkeeper Michaely Bihina, Myrian Myadjou, Monique Ngock and Marie Ngah were all included in the selection.

Runners-up Malawi had two representatives, with sisters Tabitha Chawinga and Temwa Chawinga earning places in the team.
Hosts Morocco and Algeria also contributed two players each.
Mohaila Benzina and Hanane Ait El Haj were Morocco’s representatives, while Ines Belloumou and Marine Dafeur earned spots for Algeria.
Zambia striker Barbara Banda completed the star-studded line-up.
Cameroon’s Valentine Nguele was named Coach of the Tournament.
The absence of a Nigerian player from the Best XI further underlined the Super Falcons’ underwhelming campaign at the tournament.

None of the SF girls deserve to be on that best X1 of the 2026 final list- not the Coach who won the best coach award, nor the awful Goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, who won the best Goalkeeper award only last year in the 2024 Wafcon played in 2025, deserve any place near there.
Not even captain Ajibade, who was in last years best X1, deserve anywhere near this year’s WAFCON best X1. They were all very unserious, complacent and unprepared and unproductive let downs to their Coach and Nigerian fans- too busy Tiktoking, Snapchating and Instagraming to take their adequately prepared African women’s team seriously!
