Cardiff Keeping Tabs On Lowe

Cardiff are set to do battle with Leeds and Wigan to secure the services of Portsmouth winger Jamal Lowe, according to reports.

Lowe has enjoyed something of a breakthrough season with Pompey, finishing as their top scorer across all competitions with 17 goals, including a strike as Kenny Jackett’s side beat Sunderland in the final of the Checkatrade Trophy at the end of March.

However, the Black Cats got their revenge over Portsmouth in last week’s League One play-off semi-finals and that has put the future of Lowe, who has just 12 months left on his contract at Fratton Park, in doubt.

Cardiff are one of the sides believed to be interested in Lowe, who only made the step up from non-league football in 2017, with Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock looking to reshape his squad following their relegation from the Premier League.

Lowe would reportedly only cost Cardiff around £2million, but that valuation has also put Leeds and Wigan on red alert, so the Welsh club may have to move quickly if they are to secure his services.
