Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has questioned Mohamed Salah’s surprise move to Turkish club Trabzonspor, stating that the winger is too good for Turkey and should have targeted a top-tier European club like AC Milan or Juventus instead.
Recall that the Egyptian international left Liverpool at the end of last season after nine years on Merseyside and scoring 257 goals.

Speaking on Football Ramble, he said Salah missed out on one obvious destination by taking the big financial offer from Trabzonspor.
“I never believed he was going to Saudi. He’s too good for that.
“I think he could be playing in Serie A. Turkey feels like a level too low to me…
“I was convinced he’d end up at like an AC Milan or Juventus; maybe his wages were a problem or something like that.
“I don’t know him; obviously I’ve never spoken with him. But he’s like Ronaldo, isn’t he? He’s so driven, and his numbers mean so much to him. He can still do this in Turkey, by the way.

“But I thought he would want to still play at a real prestigious club. Obviously his wage demands have probably put a few people off.
“I thought he might curb those demands a little bit to get a better club. Go to AC Milan or Juventus, you’re still playing in the San Siro, still playing in Europe.
“Him in Turkey, I just think he’s better than that.”
