AC Milan will cash in on keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma if they fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League. The Rossoneri sit fifth in Serie A and need to win at SPAL in the final round of fixtures if they are to stand any chance of securing a spot in Europe’s elite competition next season.
However, they are still relying on either Inter Milan or Atalanta to slip-up against Empoli and Sassuolo respectively. Donnarumma earns around 6million euros a year at the San Siro and Corriere dello Sport claims if the Italian giants fail to qualify for the Champions League they will need to trim their wage bill.
The 20-year-old shot-stopper looks the most likely of their high earners to be sacrificed and would command a hefty fee, with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain among his reported suitors.
