Chukwuemeka Signing Thrills Chelsea Boss, Boehly

Chairman of Chelsea, Todd Boehly, has expressed his happiness after signing Austrian-born Nigerian midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka to the club this summer transfer window.

The Blues signed Chukwuemeka on a six-year contract from Aston Villa for £20 million.

The 18-year-old had been linked to Barcelona, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund before finally settling for Chelsea.

Boehly lauded the youngster in his comment published on the Chelsea-news.

“We are delighted to be able to bring him to Chelsea and add such a talented young individual to our squad for the new season and beyond.”

Chukwuemeka was born in Austria to Nigerian parents and grew up in England.

He has represented England at the U-17, U-18 and U-19 levels.

He is eligible to switch allegiance and represent Nigeria at the senior international level due to his parentage if he so desires.

Chukwuemeka made 12 Premier League appearances for Aston Villa last season and recorded one assist.

Chelsea finished third in the Premier League last season with 74 points from 38 games.

i think we have friendly match with Portugal next month HE SHOULD BE INVITED !

  • If not tied anyway with th series of England youth xompetive games, l think that should be the best thing to do.
The guy is a very talented midfield player that is bound to improve by the days.
Nigeria should just invite Carney Chukwuemeka. Remember,Eberechi Eze is clearly out of our sight.

He is one of the Best players for England in the forthcoming u 20 world cup and will need to apply for clearance to play for Nigeria… He is very good but we might lose him to England if we tell ourselves the truth.. At 18 he is not desperate for international football and would want to wait for England… We should develop our football in Nigeria and not wait to always reap from where we didn’t soar

He told the English media that he watches the Nigeria national team when they play.. So we Might have some hope
