LA Clippers forward Luc Mbah a Moute has been ruled out for the rest of the season following a knee operation. The 32-year-old has been out since October with the knee injury he suffered against the New Orleans Pelicans and, after at least two failed comebacks, the Clippers decided the best course of action was surgery.

LA confirmed on Thursday Mbah a Moute had undergone a successful procedure and will not now be available for the remainder of the season after only making four appearances so far in 2018-19. The Clippers expect him to be ready to return to training in around eight weeks but his long-term future beyond the summer remains even more uncertain after news of the operation emerged.
Mbah a Moute will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season when his one-year deal, signed last July, expires. Reports say the Clippers are unlikely to re-sign him amid concerns over his recent injury record.
