Collins Set To Join Championship Club Cardiff City

Nigeria defender Jamilu Collins is set to join Sky Bet Championship club Cardiff City on a free transfer, reports Completesports.com.

Collins, according to WalesOnline, underwent medical at the club on Thursday.

The transfer is expected to be announced in the next 48 hours pending the outcome of his medical.

Collins has already left Bundesliga 2 club SC Paderborn following the end of his contract with the club.

The defender spent five years at SC Paderborn and scored two goals in 127 league appearances.

The 27-year-old’s versatility is certainly seen as a big plus point, given he can play at centre-back, wing-back and on the left-hand side of midfield, however his primary position is as an orthodox left-back.

Cardiff’s recruitment team identified Collins earlier this year and the club have kept tabs on him ever since.

The Bluebirds also sought references from contacts in this country about the player. It is understood former Cardiff defender Semi Ajayi, currently at West Brom and also Collins’ team-mate at international level, was one of those to give a positive reference.

Collins has been capped 25 times at the international level by Nigeria.

This is a great move. England is better than Scotland. Collins is far better than Calvin Bassey. With Collins, Bassey will struggle in the Super Eagles.

But Cardiff is not in England instead in Wales..so Scottish is better than Wales only the Wales play in English championship or Premier league

    • Man I died when I read this comment. I know it had to have dislikes on it. Jamilu Collins is trash will always be trash. Rorh kept on calling him up. This guy was on a relegated German team for three years, he never even got a promotion. His last season he didn’t even play regularly and they let him go. He had to search for a new team to take him. Hes gonna get destroyed in the english league, he is a terrible defender.

Collins is not trash.. he has always done well when ever he wears the green jersey. Let’s respect our players and criticize constructively.

I wish Collins well, sanusi is obviously the first choice for Left back and with bassey playing in central defense, Collins is automatically the second choice for the left back position..

Great move! See you in the epl in no distant Time

The Jamilu Collins that gained promotion from the 3rd Liga into the 2.Bundesliga in 2018 and another promotion into the Bundesliga in 2019 with Paderborn must be from Mali

The Jamilu Collins that played 30 out of 34 Bundesliga games in 19/20 season must be from Congo

Th Jamilu Collins that was 1st choice left back in his club in Germany for 4 straight seasons and still managed 22 matches in his injury-ravaged last season must be from South Sudan

The Jamilu Collins that played 25 games and provided 3 assists in a SE shirt must be from Algeria

He indeed was/is a trash player. A very terrible defender at that.

You need to be taken for thorough spiritual cleansing.
