Rangers Croatian defender Borna Barisic says he is delighted with the improvements shown by Calvin Bassey this season.
Bassey has been a pivotal part of Rangers this season despite playing in different positions under Giovanni Van Bronckhorst.
The youngster has featured at left-back and in central defense where he has excelled.
His impressive performance has contributed to Rangers qualification to the final of this season’s Europa League final.

Also, he helped the reigning league champions to the Scottish Cup final after a hard fought semi-final win against bitter rivals Celtics.
And commenting on Bassey, Barisic told The Herald:”Absolutely. He’s my boy! He’s a good guy and a very good player.
“I think he has improved this season very well and he can play at both left back and centre back.
“But we know his qualities,he’s very strong and it’s very tough to play against him.
“I’m pleased that he has improved this much and I think he has a very bright future.
“He has the ability but even more important is that he is very calm and down to earth.”
Barisic added:”He is strong mentally and he always wants to learn from everybody and wants to listen.
“I think that is a thing which is even more important than all the ability he has. This is the main reason I think he has a very bright future in football.”
The 22-year-old has made five assists in 47 appearances in all competitions this season.
Bassey should be in the Super Eagles squad that will take on Mexico and Ecuador in a double header friendly games.
Also, he is expected to feature in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations when hostilities kick off in a few months time.
Recall Bassey featured in the 2022 World Cup qualifying playoffs between the Eagles and Ghana in March.
