Flying Eagles head coach Ladan Bosso has dedicated his side’s victory against the Black Satellites of Ghana to his late mother, reports Completesports.com.
Bosso’s side defeated the Black Satellites 2-0 in their opening game at the WAFU B U-20 Championship on Sunday night.
Goals from Ibrahim Muhammad and Ahmed Abudullahi in each half of the game ensured the Flying Eagles picked all three points at the Stade Général Seyni Kountche in Niamey.
Bosso, who lost his mother last week only returned to Niamey on Saturday following the burial.
“We deserve our three points. The boys played to instructions and made the entire Nation proud. We are on course, we are focused ahead of the next game,” Bosso said after the game.
“I dedicate the three points to my late mum who died just a week ago. Though the team is still work in progress with an inconclusive mission, qualification ticket is the ultimate”.
The Flying Eagles will take on the Young Stallions of Burkina Faso in their Group B at the Stade Général Seyni Kountche on Wednesday.
A draw will be enough for Bosso’s team to secure qualification to the semi-final of the competition.
Only the two finalists will qualify for the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations billed to hold in Egypt next February.Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
