Golden State Warriors star, Stephen Curry, has revealed his ambition to become an NBA team owner once his playing career comes to an end.

The four-time NBA champion discussed his future plans during an appearance on CNBC’s Squawk on the Street.

“Eventually, I’m interested in team ownership in the NBA,” Curry stated.

“I’ve seen Jordan do it. There are guys in the league now who are taking the necessary steps to be legitimate players when it comes to the league and possibly expanding in a couple of years.”

While Curry expressed a clear interest in joining the ownership ranks, he emphasised that his primary focus remains on his playing career.

“I know I have a lot more to accomplish on the court before I move into other roles within the league,” Curry added. “But I definitely want to be a part of the ownership landscape.”

Curry’s comments highlight a growing trend among NBA players who are increasingly investing in teams. Icons like Michael Jordan, who set the standard by purchasing the Charlotte Hornets, and others such as Grant Hill (Hawks), Shaquille O’Neal (Kings), Dwyane Wade (Jazz), and Magic Johnson (Lakers) have all taken on ownership roles.

LeBron James has also expressed a strong interest in joining an ownership group if an NBA expansion franchise is established in Las Vegas.
