Eric Dier says Tottenham are desperate to turn their season around ahead of the visit of Watford on Saturday. Spurs have picked up just 11 points from their opening eight Premier League games of the season and sit in ninth place, while they were dumped out of the League Cup by Colchester United and suffered a chastening 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
Dier says Tottenham must “embrace” the situation they find themselves in and insists there is a determination within the squad to respond to their recent setbacks. He told the club website: “I really feel the mentality in the building is ‘let’s fight through this’. I don’t want us to be one of those teams that allows a situation like this escalate and eventually bring us down.”

He added: “We’re going to have to be as strong as we’ve ever been to push past this period, and you can have my word that everyone here will do the most they possibly can to do that.”
Spurs beat Aston Villa in the opening round of fixtures but have managed just two wins in 10 games in all competitions since, with four defeats in their last five games, including the embarrassing cup loss on penalties to Colchester.
Punters may wish to use their free bet to back the North Londoners to get back to winning ways against Watford, however, as the Hornets have managed just one point from a possible 12 on their travels this season and are bottom of the table.
