Done Deal: Chuks Aneke Joins Birmingham City On Two-Year Contract

Sky Bet Championship club Birmingham City have announced the signing of Chuks Aneke on a two-year deal, reports Completesports.com.

Aneke will officially joined the Blues on July 1.

The 27-year-old has been in demand during the close season, with the Club fighting off plenty of competition to secure his signature after he scored 15 league goals last term.

“I am delighted to finally get it over the line”, Aneke told the club website.

“It’s a big Club and a big challenge, I’m definitely looking forward to it.

“It’s a massive Club and it’s in the Championship – that’s where I want to be. I want to test myself in the Championship and my old [Head] Coach is here, so it lined up and I am ready to go.”

He is the third permanent signing of Lee Bowyer’s reign, after Ryan Woods and Jordan Graham joined earlier this week.

Decent AM. Not as skillful or flamboyant as Iwobi or Ejaria, but a bigger goal threat in my opinion. In other words, he is more dangerous in front of goal. More likely to convert a goal-scoring opportunity.
His weaknesses – fitness, pace, not as energetic as average midfielders on the same level. Big weaknesses. Needs to work on these.
His strengths – strong, great passing, two-footed, long range shots, freekick specialist, great eye for goal, scores plenty of goals.
Has also being used successfully as a box to box midfielder.
An England reject, he may be highly motivated to prove a point if given a chance with Nigeria. I’m certain that Germany and Holland are looking at Balogun and Ekong with a bit of regret now. Germany could use Balogun at this Euros, with their topsy turvy defending. Aneke may be motivated to make England regret too in the future. As our search for quality midfielders continues, he is worth taking a close look at, in my opinion. His weaknesses may be what end up stopping him from making the SE. But if he can fix those, he will be a good option to have int he squad.

Absolutely spot on. I have always kept an eye on this player. Just a shame, injury slowed him down, as he could easily have been playing top level both for club n country. SE COACHING CREW/ SCOUTING TEAM WATCH OUT FOR HIM THIS SEASON WHILE HOPING HE STAYS INJURY FREE.
