Super League outfit Catalans Dragons have confirmed hooker Alrix Da Costa has signed a new two-year deal in Perpignan. The 21-year-old joined the club’s academy in 2015 and has gone on to make 56 appearances for Catalans. Da Costa, the 2017 Rookie of the year, has scored two tries for the club since turning professional.
He has helped Catalans move into seventh in the Super League table in recent weeks, and is hoping to continue to learn from regular No.9 Michael McIlorum. “I’m delighted to sign a new contract with the Dragons. I love the club; I’m glad to be a part of it and of this squad,” he told the club’s official website.
“The club is moving forward every year, and I want to help the Dragons to win their first Super League trophy. I’m looking forward to continue my development as a player and as a man, and I would like to thank the staff, the players and the Chairman Bernard Guasch for the faith they have in me.”
