Albanian League title winning coach Ndubuisi Egbo says he would love his team, KF Tirana, to meet Premier League heavyweights Manchester United and Chelsea in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Egbo said this in a radio programme ‘No Holds Barred’ on Brila FM on Tuesday, anchored by his former Super Eagles teammate Ifeanyi Udeze.
The 2000 and 2002 AFCON star became the first Nigerian and African coach to lead a team to the league title in a European top flight, after KF Tirana were crowned Albanian champions.

He could lead them to the double if they win the Albanian Cup final.
Speaking from his base in Albania, when asked if he would love to meet United and Chelsea if his team qualify for the group stage of the Champions League, Egbo said: “These are the type of opportunities we are looking for because it’s when you win these type of games that’s when God will push you up.
“I’m someone that’s not afraid and it’s something that has helped me to achieve everything.
“So I will like to enter the group stage and meet this type of teams in order to show them that I know what I’m doing because if you believe in yourself God will give you every other thing.”
The 46-year-old former goalkeeper attributed his success in Albania to his experiences while playing in the Nigerian league.
“I may hold a European passport but I’m not a European, I’m a Nigerian 100 per cent,” he said. “It is the experiences I got in Nigeria that helped me achieve this feat. I played in the Nigerian league very well before I left, half of my life I spent it in Nigeria before going abroad.”
And if he would honour an invitation to coach Nigeria:”I know the football scene in Nigeria and of I’m called upon to come and help my country I wouldn’t say no. It’s a good thing when the country call you to come and serve.”

Nice one may God crown your effort with success.
We just need home during the World Cup period to mentor our goalies
That is the Nigerian spirit. We believe we can do anything by putting God first.
“Coach Egbo said he would like to to meet Premier League heavyweights Manchester United and Chelsea in next season’s UEFA Champions League”.
I hope Mr. Rohr is watching. If the foreign coach is not bold enough to compete with the best in Africa and in the world, NFF should do the right thing.
My team is young should not be an excuse this time around. I hope his fans are seeing what the ex player is trying to achieve?
Hmm. Me i don’t want to hear excuses oooo. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
@Omo9ja …. Kindly explain the two statement below :
– I would like to meet Premier League heavyweights Manchester United and Chelsea in next season’s UEFA Champions League
– I’ll win Premier League heavyweights Manchester United and Chelsea in next season’s UEFA Champions League
MEET and WIN are two different words . COACH EGBO is not bragging about winning both Chelsea and Manchester United .
You want Coach Rohr to brag about winning every match and tournament including the worldcup .
EGBO’s only claim he would love to play against the premier league heavyweights . Last time i check under Coach Rohr , Team NIGERIA already played both BRAZIL & UKRAINE # World heavyweight and none of the teams are able to Win team Nigeria #.
You seems to have a personal grudge with the coach and blame him on every comments even when the topic or news is not related to the Coach .
You are a better human , better person and an adult . I believe every Adult knows that moving ahead is the best decision in life rather than staying stuck in the PAST .
Remember even you OMO9ja aint perfect neither can you boldly tell yourself ( I NEVER MAKE ANY WRONG DECISION or I’M A PERFECT HUMAN )
Have a nice day and please try and move ahead . If you need to complain about the Coach Rohr , wait until International matches resume and there’s any error
Nobody is against you making your complains but then wait until there’s a reason to complain RATHER than staying stuck in the PAST .
God bless Nigeria
@ omo naija
What has coach rohr has to do with this statement now. What has this man done to you. Why do you always channel all your comments to him. Why can’t you just make a sensible comment without mentioning his name..am sure you and your village people are after this man failure and it wount work…abeg park well.
Mine is even if it’s to hire him for the World Cup only to Assist Rohr, NFF Shouldn’t hesitate. It a bonus for us. That Yobo can’t do anything there. We all know he’s there to fill up the space till he gets a good certification as a Coach
Nwanne calm down i understand playing against big teams will showcase ur name as a black coach to lead an European team to Champions League even Albania league is least in Europe but we re happy for u nwanne
