Ellis Injury Fears Allayed

Gareth Ellis could be back in action within a couple of weeks after Hull FC played down fears over an injury he picked up at the weekend.

Ellis, who came out of retirement in February to help bolster the squad, limped out of Friday night’s Challenge Cup clash win over Castleford Tigers with a knee problem.

That sparked fears it was serious, and he could have played his last game for the club, but coach Lee Radford moved quickly to dispel such talk. “It’s not as severe as first thought,” Radford told the BBC. “He’s been for a scan today and we’re only looking at a couple of weeks I think.”

Meanwhile, Hull also have concerns over the fitness of Jack Logan, who picked up an arm injury in the same game and will need to undergo scans to discover the full extent of the damage. “Jack Logan came off and we’re waiting on his scan results, so hopefully we’ll have more news on that tomorrow,” he added.
