England Players Will Be In Good Shape For World Cup- Murphy

Former England midfielder Danny Murphy is of the opinion that the England players would have rhythm and momentum before the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The FIFA World Cup is set to take place between November 20 and December 18 this year.

The Three Lions of England have had some great performances since Gareth Southgate became the gaffer, with a 2018 World Cup fourth place position and a silver medal finish at Euro 2020

The upcoming World Cup is set to take place in the latter part of the year for the first time ever.

Murphy talks about what he feels is the advantage of a mid-season World Cup in his Daily Mail column.

“The players will already have rhythm and momentum,” Murphy said.

“Usually before a World Cup, managers almost need a mini preseason to get them back up to speed.

“Another advantage for England is that Gareth has been in the club for a long time. The players know his philosophy.

“They know what he expects, they know their roles, give or take the odd tweak in shape or system.

“Some other managers won’t have that luxury. England’s stars will be ready to play.”

England have won the World Cup once in 1966.

England are in Group B alongside Iran, the United States of America and Wales.
