Etebo Set To Join Getafe On Loan From Stoke City

Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo is on the verge of linking up with Spanish club Getafe on loan for the remainder of the season with a purchase option, reports Completesports.com.

Etebo, 24, has struggled for regular playing time recently at Sky Bet Championship club, Stoke City.

The powerful midfielder was a prominent member of The Potters squad under former manager Nathan Jones, but fell out of favour when Micheal O’Neil took charge in November.

He has not played for Stoke City since limping out of a defeat at Sheffield Wednesday in October and is now understood to be waiting for a visa to complete his move to Spain.

According to reports in England, the deal is not likely to be rushed through in time so he could face Real Madrid on Saturday, but Getafe hope he will be involved in the Cup game against Badalona the following weekend.

Etebo has featured in 11 league games for Stoke City this season.

The former Warri Wolves player who joined Stoke City from Portuguese club, CD Fierense for £6.3m in the summer of 2018 previously spent time on loan at Spanish outfit Las Palmas.

Getafe currently occupy sixth position in the LaLiga table on 30 points from 18 matches.

Proper Warri boy. They won’t tolerate nonsense. Balogun, Isaac n Iheanacho, over to you guys. Remain in Brighton, Watford n Leicester, then I rest my case.

This one na BABA NLA NONSENSE.
Etebo said “SHUOOO, NA SO DIS PIPO WAN TAKE KPEM MY TALENT? THIS WAN DON PASS SIDDON LOOK OOOO. ME I GO DISCHARGE OOO!”
E remain small, Warri almost carry last for this matter. But as Etebo don waka, the situation don balance.
Iheanacho’s own, I can understand a bit. The guy is playing now, Rodgers knows how to use him, plus he is pursuing his kpali.
Balogun, Success, how levels? Make una head dey una neck ooo!

Loooooz… Abeg no kill man with laughter. Oboy Etebo no fit carry last. Omo boy coachee for Stoke Don dey think of converting Etebo to right full back. These whitey too like convert. Lol. @ Pompei, as for Nacho, we should not be deceived by his recent game times. Iheanacho talent is too good to sit on d bench. There is a difference between you playing because a manager has his trust on you n you playing to impress your manager. Vardy belong to d one above while Nacho to d one below. Nacho is not Rogers kinda player. Nacho is not tenacious n quick enough like Sterling, Vardy, Demarie, etc for Rogers because that’s isn’t Nachos style. Iheanacho plays more with his brain, very calculated, not very quick / tenacious but he is precision personified. My fear is he might lose this golden quality if he remains with Rogers because in trying to impress, he might start running, kicking fighting for balls without thinking n being precise. Players do well with managers that appreciate their style of play.

      • Etebo should remain in la liga for him to still be relevant to SE.with the way young players her coming up now very soon all SE players will be selected from the top 5 leagues in Europe only

  • Iheanacho is not a good enough striker. To be honest that guy made a mistake to accept that position. If u observe he is trying to impress for over 4 years now no level even with the eagles. He should have learnt from mahrez and master that right wing instead of learning from vardy. Iheanacho can play from midfield or wings as a striker mark my word he cannot be verry sucessfull. He doesnt have that total awareness and control of a top 9. No need to pretend

These guys have to leave Etebo is a very smart guy, from the onset I was wondering what took him to division two. As for Success and Kele I understand their plight they want British citizenship that is why then don’t mind fighting their lives day in and out at their respective clubs. But Balogun who’s a German Nigerian is the one I’m wondering what’s holding him back???

Etebo do not have citizenship in England but decided to put career first.Though he’s married all he needs is for his partner to remain in the UK for the next three years to see out the five years work permit, that automatically will aid Etebo to be resident in the UK even while he pursue’s his career elsewhere

Etebo is very competitive compared to the latter. Success is the worst of all sitting on the bench or injured yet he’s very cool not playing as long as he’s taking his pay. He’s such a strange being!
As for Kelechi anyday anytime he’s a good player but he needs to move to another English team if his staying back at LEI has anything to do with British passport!
