Euro 2024: I Take Responsibility For Jorginho’s Poor Performance –Spalletti

However, Spalletti in a chat with TribalFootball, admitted that he takes responsibility for Jorginho’s performance.

“He was probably under par against Spain, but it all comes down to how the team plays as a whole. If we are able to keep the ball possession, great, but if we can’t, poor Jorginho, it is not his fault. It’s my fault,” Spalletti explained.

“This is what football is about. Jorginho has an incredible ability that none of the other players have. He tells everyone how to behave and we don’t have many of these players on the pitch.

“However, there are players who are pushing and have probably more energy than what Jorginho may naturally offer. He’s born with those qualities and with other issues, let’s call them this way.

“He can’t score many headers, but when he leads the team, he has this quality. We still strongly rely on Jorginho regardless of whether he plays or not for 45 minutes more.”

Why will osime not be the highest goal scorer with a coach like this, where are those that claimed players are to be blamed for the poor running of a team, where are those that are backing finidi, come and see a true elder statesman

      You have said it all.
This is how a good, matured and reasonable coach handles issues not calling out a player or players as the cause of your failure. Man management and ethics is very important in coaching duties. This is what Finidi fail to learn from coach Pesiero for 20 months a thing he never did in all the matches he lost while leading the team.

Coach Spalletti: “it is my fault. I take responsibility as a coach”

Nigerian coaches (and their mumu fans): It is Oshimen’s fault (& Iwobi, Lookman, etc).

Chief of Naval Staff Arara Kumbie has taken responsibility for NFF’s continued failure to pay coaches’ salaries and players’ bonuses in a timely manner.
He has also accepted responsibility for the $4m Afcon funds, which has seemingly vanished without a trace.
Please direct all queries to his Abuja office.
