Switzerland head coach Murat Yakin has said his side can still do better despite their victory over Hungary.
The Swiss started their campaign at the 2024 European Championship on a good note following a 3-1 victory over Hungary.
Yakin stated he was satisfied with his team’s performance in the first half but was not happy with their second half display.
“It was important that we won our first game,” Yakin was quoted by the BBC.
“It brings more self-confidence in our game, but I wasn’t so happy with the second half. We have to play better in the next game.”
The gaffer also reflected on hosts Germany’s impressive victory over Scotland.
Of course, it’s not so easy to play against Germany in the opening game,” Yakin added.
“How Germany played was fantastic – it’s not easy to get out of that pressing and hard defensive work.
“They earned this victory, but it’s a completely different game on Wednesday.”
Switzerland will face Scotland in their second game of the competition on Wednesday.
