Danish-born Nigerian striker William Osula is wanted by newly crowned Europa League champions Aston Villa as he impresses at Newcastle United ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider.
Osula has been forced to bide his time for regular minutes under Eddie Howe, but is emerging as his first choice centre-forward as the season concludes.
He has certainly repaid Howe’s faith, with five goals in his last six outings for Newcastle as several Premier League clubs keep tabs on his potential availability.
Aston Villa are one of those sides, as revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, but the Magpies are reluctant to let him leave this summer.
Newcastle’s transfer dealings could see numerous big-name players leave St James’ Park, hence why they are determined to keep hold of Osula and his lofty potential.
Interest in Osula’s services is nothing new, after Eintracht Frankfurt saw a bid to sign him on loan with a £28.5million option-to-buy rejected by Newcastle on Deadline Day last summer.

Sources have revealed to Football Insider that Osula is happy to stay on Tyneside after his recent run in the side, but Villa are keen to swoop for his services to bolster their own attacking options.
NFF Contacted Osula Over Possible Invitation To Super Eagles
It was reported in April that Osula was contacted by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for a potential invitation to the Super Eagles.

According to a Danish journalist, Farzam Abolhosseini, the NFF has contacted the player through sources close to him.
“William Osula, who as recently as March was in Brian Riemer’s national team squad for the fateful World Cup qualifiers against North Macedonia and the Czech Republic, is in the situation where he has to choose between Denmark or Nigeria,” Abolhosseini wrote via Danish outlet Tipsbladet.
“Tipsbladet can reveal that the Premier League striker, who has a transfer market value of €15m, has been contacted through his backroom staff by the Nigerian Football Association, who want to steal him away from Denmark.”
Osula Missed Denmark’s World Cup Qualifiers Due To Injury
In November 2025 Osula was called up to the Danish national team for the 2026 World Cup qualification matches against Scotland and Belarus, but an injury forced him to withdraw.
He has only featured for the Danish U-19 and U-21 youth teams.
