Everton sent a scout to the 160th ‘Eternal derby’ between Red Star and Partizan Belgrade on Thursday as they target fresh talent. The Toffees look set to continue with their policy of only signing younger players again this summer as they attempt to build a squad for the long-term.

And the match at Belgrade’s famous ‘Marakana’ Stadium would have offered them a chance to assess plenty of new talent from Serbia. Juventus target Strahinja Pavlovic will certainly have been on Everton’s watch-list and the 17-year-old centre-back looks destined to move to a bigger stage in the near future.
The Turin club were also set to send scouts to the derby and Everton would be up against it in a direct bidding war with the Serie A champions for Pavlovic. Another Partizan player who will be on Marcel Brands’ radar is 22-year-old Chelsea-owned midfielder Danilo Pantic. Pantic spent two seasons on loan in the Eredivisie while Brands was in charge of transfers at PSV and could be looking to sever ties with Chelsea for good this summer.
