Ex-Eaglets Striker Olusegun Targets More After Netting Hat-Trick In Debut For Danish Club

Nigerian youngster, Olakunle Olusegun, a member of the 2019 class of the Golden Eaglets hopes to become a huge success in Denmark after making a blistering start to his new career with a hat-trick on his debut for BK Fremad Amager in a Danish Cup First Round 3-1 win against B1908 on Tuesday, Completesports.com reports.

Olusegun completed his move to the Copenhagen-based Danish Division 1 club from ABS FC of Ilorin earlier on Tuesday and was immediately thrown into the fray, with the Nigerian youngster proving his mettle.

The 18 year, simply called Kunle at the Danish club, old put Fremad Amager in front eight minutes after kickoff. And Five minutes before the break, he doubled his side’s lead, grabbing his brace in his debut game.

The rampant forward completed his hat-trick in the 68th minute to ensure Fremad Amager moved to the next round of the competition.

ABS Director of Football, Alloy Chukwuemeka, had earlier on Tuesday confirmed Olusegun’s Danish move.

“We are delighted to see that Olusegun is progressing very well and we are very happy to be part of this,” Chukwuemeka said.

“At ABS FC, our objectives are always the same, to discover, train and nurture young talents to stardom.

“We still have plenty of Oluseguns in ABS, but everyone will shine at their own time.”

Chukwuemeka confirmed that the player had been sent to FDC Vista of Russia since 2019 before his move to Fremad Amager.

Olusegun, after his unveiling on Tuesday expressed his delight at the move.

“It’s the first big opportunity for me, and a chance I’ve been looking forward to. My goal is to perform as well as possible, and get better for each match.

“It’s the best showcase for young players in my home country. I am very proud to have signed my first contract abroad and it is an exciting step towards my goals for the future.

“When I was included in Nigeria’s U17 national team, I was hoping to get my first contract abroad. Now that the shift is in place, I can focus on my development.

“I was included in trial training several times in February in Turkey at the training camp with Fremad Amager, and I was able to show myself there.

“I already know several of the players, and in addition I have just met them all in Turkey.

“I have talked a lot with Sodiq and Sammy, and they have prepared me for life in Denmark.

“Both the country and the club seem like a perfect solution for me and therefore it was an easy choice”.
