Former MFM star winger who currently plays for Turkish second division club Ankaraspor, Sikiru Olatunbosun, has backed the Super Eagles to defeat Benin Republic away on matchday five of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers in March.
The Eagles missed the chance to seal qualification after drawing against Sierra Leone in their double-header last year.
The Leone Stars came from 4-0 down to draw 4-4 against the Eagles in Benin City in the first-leg before both teams settled for a goalless draw in the reverse fixture Freetown.
Despite the setback the Eagles still top Group L on eight points while Benin are second on seven points.

And ahead of next month’s crucial game, Olatunbosun says with the caliber of players in the Eagles, they will not only beat Benin but qualify for the 2021 AFCON and also the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
“Nigeria will win against Benin,” Olatunbosun said from his base in Turkey.
“The games against Sierra Leone were just minor setbacks which I believe will be corrected when they face Benin Republic. The Eagles is blessed with quality players who will do the job in Benin and not only will they qualify for the Cup of Nations, they will also qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.”
The talented left-winger said he still has the ambition of playing for the Super Eagles but wants to focus on doing well for his new club.
He made his debut for the Super Eagles in June 2017, when he came on as a substitute in a friendly against Togo.
He said:”I still have the Ambition to play for the Super Eagles. It is the dream of every Nigerian to play for the country, I was close to playing when I was in MFM.
“But while we wait for such call up I am focused on my club because I just moved to a new club in Turkey.”
Since joining Ankaraspor, Olatunbosun has made five league appearances and provided one assist, which was in a 1-0 home win.
It would be recalled that Olatunbosun scored a wonder goal for MFM in a 2-1 win against Enugu Rangers in February 2017.
After receiving a pass from former teammate Stephen Odey, he flicked the ball over Rangers defender Emmanuel Etim and hit an unstoppable left-foot volley into the top corner.
In March in the same year the strike was voted CNN Goal of the Week after garnering 80 per cent of the votes.
