Former Nigerian winger, Tijani Babangida has revealed that the Super Eagles were unlucky against Guinea-Bissau despite playing good football in today’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Recall that Nigeria suffered their first defeat of the AFCON 2023 qualifying campaign after Guinea-Bissau picked up a stunning 1-0 win at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
A lone goal by Mama Samba Balde in the first half proved to be the decisive moment of the game despite Nigeria’s best efforts to salvage at least a point.
With the reverse fixture set for next week Monday, the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist told Completesports.com that the team played quality football but were unlucky to score against Guinea-Bissau.
“Yes I was not happy that the Super Eagles lost 1-0 to Guinea-Bissau despite the team playing good football.
“I am really impressed with the performance of the players and I hope they will get the job done in the reverse fixture in order to remain atop of the group.”Copyright © 2022 Completesports.com All rights reserved. They need to get the job done.
God bless Nigeria
Good luck guys
In addition, match of this magnitude should have been played in Uyo or Benni City.
We don’t need any prophet to tell us that Abuja Stadium is not a good ground for our players.
The Super Eagles were thrown off balance by a weaker team’s counter attack. From then on it was mistake after mistske, and the poor pitch conditions did not help matters.
A big congratulations to NFF, Technical unit, Peisero, the Pitch & INEC!!!
Pls who rigged this match???
My only plea is “Osimhen should avoid injury oooooooo! You have Seria A title, Golden boot Seria A, Champions leagues glory to pursue with Napoli this season o”
Osimhen! Osimhen! Osimhen! Pls avoid injury o! No go overdo carry injury and jeopardize this season o. This may just be one of your best seasons in your football career o!
Pls someone close to Osimhen should help us advise him. Thanks.
So we now need luck to beat guinea bissau?…… please check their FIFA ranking before coming to the public space to vomit ignorance……how deep our darling SE has fallen……To get a different result we must do things differently……We want to eat our cake and also have it which is not possible…… Corruption is all over the administration of our football and corruption can never live with success. Deep thoughts.
