Former Nigerian striker, Jonathan Akpoborie believes Watford forward, Emmanuel Dennis has the potential to lead the Super Eagles attack in the forthcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Akpoborie made this known on the backdrop of the player’s scintillating goal scoring performance in the Premier League this ongoing season.
Recall that Dennis scored in Watford’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea in the EPL on Wednesday, to take his goal tally to six goals.
Reacting to his performance, the former Wolfsburg striker told Completesports.com that the Nigerian international has measured up to the standard needed for any player to be part of AFCON 2021.
“Dennis has done a good job for himself in the Premier League going by his impressive goal scoring form for Watford in his first season. Without doubt, Dennis has shown that he deserves a place in Super Eagles coach, Gernt Rohr’s squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. Not just a place alone, he has the goal scoring sense as well to deliver when needed.
“Scoring in the Premier League is not an easy job and for him to have scored six goals, shows he’s doing something right at Watford. He should be be giving the chance to prove his worth now.”

He can play and attack from the wings, which will take some pressure off the main striker. He is good at finding the forward players judging by the number of assists he has provided.
I say play him on either left or right. If Victor moses is returning then he should attack from the left wing with moses attacking from the right. Then we can have taiwo awoniyi as the striker upfront or any of dessers or sadiq. Sounds good. Looks good too. Lets see what the Super Eagles handlers make of it.

Where do you guys see the full 40man list? Ow goal just name the new debutants and I saw VM name there, that would be a welcome development, but I’m yet to see the full list.
Dennis has definitely done enough to prove that he deserves to be there at the very least and I would actually agree and go as far as put him straight in the first 11, that does not mean drop Osimhen, the beauty is that Dennis is also very versatile and can play anywhere across the front line so we can easily accommodate both players in the first 11 whether Victor Moses comes back or not does not matter, we have better and younger fitter upgrades in Lookman, Eze to mention just a couple
My only happiness is that rohr will not take us to Afcon ,so he will definitely make the team,the era of Moses Simon and Musa is gone ,we will now have our best players playing once again

Isaac success what a huge talent, monster performance tonight against lazio, a fully fit success would be too much to handle for those African reckless defenders. I wish the guy can be more serious .
If NFF and Oga Rohr can not fix the problem at least, they shouldn’t add to it.
Mr. Akpoborie, the issue here is not about Dennis or Dessers and other strikers but when the foundation is weak or not solid enough, no matter what we build on that foundation, it won’t work.
That is the definition of Oga Rohr Super Eagles.
Dennis can not do anything in that team because the team already disjointed.
When we are talking about experience, we have Musa, Balogun and with the addition of Moses, I think Super Eagles is ready to deliver under Amunike, Egbo and co.
We have to be honest with ourselves. Ighalo and Musa are not that strong to be in that team but out of the two players, Musa as the captain of the team still have a huge role to play.
In that regard, Ighalo should give way to the young players.
Oga Rohr also should be replaced. Shikena. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Nobody should give way to anybody. They are all Nigerians. Everybody should display their God given prowess in the field of play to the glory of their Nation. Dennies deserves to be of one of the players to be invited back. I will not be surprised to see him return based on his current form. No one can push Ighalo aside to satisfy those who envy him for his fame & wealth.

Rhor hasn’t put an excellent squad for Super Eagles;look at the last squad he recalled Ahmed Musa,Simon Moses,Leon Balogun,William Troost,Alex Iwobi, Iheanchu,Paul Onuachu,Frank Onyeka,Peter Etebo are all shaky and weak and lazy players who can’t offer and produce for SE more this time; Rhor has disregarded and ignored a talent players like Sadiq Umar,Dennis Bonafonture,Okechukuwu Azubiuki,Godfry Oboabona,Ceryiel Dessers, Ozunwanfor,Ovie Ejaria,Michael Oliseh,James Igbikeme as playmakers who play a depth football; also he has diregarded a local players at NPL.Rhor has been playing without any pattern of playing whitch has affected SE style of playing this leads SE to struggle versus small teams and big teams in Africa,also this lost SE thier charisma and personality in Africa football.So NFF must fire and sack him after that search for a genius and vetern coach who can lead SE to another high standard.

If I have all these players at my disposal, this is the formation I will try out. I feel it will be productive in terms of goals creation and goals scored plus it will make the midfield more compact as the two wingers will drop into the midfield to get the ball thereby helping out when it matters. Also, with aribo in an advanced position, and v.moses and Dennis on the wings and awoniyi upfront, I see the team scoring alot of goals.
Instead of Rohr to bring in this man together with Eberechi Eze as creative midfield, he went to beg Ighalo.
That Rohr ought to drop ighalo and Musa for God’s sake
