FA Cup Round Three Preview: Oldham Look To Cause Upset Against Out Of Sorts Fulham

Meanwhile, Newport County out to cause shock against Leicester while Wolves and Leeds meet

The third round of the FA Cup continues this coming Sunday (6 January) with more possible giant killing displays in the world’s oldest cup competitions. Oldham Athletic travel to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham, while Newport County welcome former Premier League champions Leicester City, before Wolves and Liverpool lock horns in the final game of the third round on the Monday night.

First things first

Before you go any further, head on over to the Oddsshark website, find your favourite betting site and get your own account up and running using your credit card. As a new customer and with the FA Cup third round including all Premier League teams, there should be a wide range of promotions and special offers available to you.

Where should I be investing my money?

First up, Oldham’s trip to take on Fulham. The Premier League club are having a tough time of it t the moment, having won just three of 21 league outings and sitting next to bottom in the table – the cup could well hold some welcome reprieve for the under pressure players.

Oldham, in stark contrast, ply their trade in the fourth tier of English football but come into this tie on the back of two straight wins. With their tails up they may well feel capable of causing an upset at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.

Nevertheless, it is Fulham who come into this tie as the overwhelming favourites to win this tie. You can back the home side to progress t just 1.25, with Oldham all the way out at 10.00 to cause that sought after cup shock – a draw is priced in the middle at 6.00, according to Oddsshark.

And we are expecting Fulham to ease through the tie with relative ease. A comfortable, 3-1 win for the Cottagers is priced competitively at 11.00, thereby offering more than a ten-fold return on any investment, while you could more than double your money by backing a combo bet of a home win, coupled with both teams to score, at 2.50.

Newport out to shock Leicester

On the same day, another League Two v Premier League battle takes place as Newport County host Leicester City. Newport do not come into this match in the greatest of form however, having won none of their four most recent outings.

Leicester, on the other hand, appear to have found their form at just the right time. They have won three of their last four league games, including victories away to Chelsea and at home against defending Premier League champions Manchester City – the challenge from Newport County is unlikely to offer much intimidation.

And it is indeed Leicester who come into the game as the clear favourites to make it through to fourth round. You can back the Foxes to win at just 1.28, with the home side out at 10.00 to do the same – a draw is priced in the middle at 5.50.

And Leicester should wrap this game up with the minimum of fuss. A comfortable, 2-0 win for the visitors is priced at 7.00, meaning that a US$5 bet would lead to a US$35 pay out, while you can more than double your money by backing under 2.5 goals in the game at 2.50.

Liverpool head to Wolves

And finally, current Premier League table toppers Liverpool head to Wolves in a repeat of their league fixture from just last month on the Monday evening. Wolves sit in the top half of the table although they have won just one of their last four games.

Liverpool need very little by the way of introduction. They sit six points clear at the top of the table, having won 17 of their 20 league games, are the only undefeated side left in the division, are scoring at a rate of over two goals per game and have leaked just eight all season.

It is therefore of little surprise to see that it is Liverpool who come into this tie as the favourites to go through. You can back the Reds to pick up the win at just 1.83 while Wolves, despite home advantage, are out at 4.00 to do the same – a draw comes in just under at 3.75.

And we are expecting Liverpool to just about make it through. A narrow, 2-1 win for the Reds is priced at 8.50, while you could more than triple your money by backing a combo bet of an away victory and both teams to score at 3.60.
