Galtier Unsure of Osimhen’s Future At Lille Amid Barca, Spurs’ Interest

Lille manager Christophe Galtier has expressed uncertainty over the future of Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen at the club, reports Completesports.com.

Osimhen has proven to be a shrewd signing for Les Dogues following his arrival from Belgian outfit, Sporting Charleroi this summer.

The 20-year-old has scored nine goals and recorded three assists in 16 league appearances for Lille and additional two in five UEFA Champions League games.

Lille have produced several top players in recent years with the likes of Eden Hazard, Divock Origi and recently Nicolas Pepe once part of the squad.

The former Wolfsburg striker has been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Tottenham Hostpur and he is expected to join one of the European big guns soon.
When quizzed about Osimhen’s future at Lille, Galtier said it is not certain but hopes he stays with the team until the end of the season.

“Osimhen will stay at Lille until the end of the season? Yes I think so, but in football, nothing is certain,” Galtier told BeIN Sports.

I wish he stays at Lille for the whole season and develop more before jumping to another club

He needs one more season at the club.

  • With all due respect, Lille is a very decent club. If Osimhen is guaranteed regular football, I don’t know what the rush for him to go elsewhere is.

He is having Champions League experience and scoring goals regularly in what is a very decent league.

Even if another club shows interest, it will not be a bad idea to stay in Lille until at least the end of next season. This will give him stability and help his development.

    Then he can move.

Having said all that, I have to echo the sentiments of his coach in the article above when he said :”but in football, nothing is certain.”

  • Is that why u made him an used substitute against chelsea??

l think probably there is nothing at stake hence he reserved him and to avoid injury for their league matches. This is my take. l am not trying to defend the coach.

The senior first team players were not used including ikone and bamba(who came in the second half) it was a dead rubber game.
