Chelsea’s hopes of keeping Eden Hazard have been boosted after the forward revealed he doesn’t need a new challenge. Belgium international Hazard has been a top target for European champions Real Madrid over the past couple of seasons and Los Blancos were said to be closing in on the forward’s signature last summer.
After the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the 28-year-old admitted he was keen to leave Stamford Bridge but Maurizio Sarri, who succeeded Antonio Conte, did not want to lose his star player at any cost.

The Blues managed to keep hold of Hazard and he has been in fantastic goalscoring form this season, having already found the back of the net 10 times from 22 Premier League appearances.
Madrid are still believed to be keeping tabs on the Belgian but the Spanish giants may have to look elsewhere based on recent comments from the Chelsea man. “After the World Cup, I wanted to leave, but in the end I stayed at Chelsea and I’m playing one of best seasons so far,” he told France Football. “So I don’t think that I need a different challenge. But that doesn’t mean that I will become better.”
