Hughton Wants To See Battling Seagulls

Chris Hughton says there is only one way out of their current predicament as he calls for Brighton to fight for survival. The Seagulls ended a run of four Premier League defeats with a dogged goalless draw against Wolves on Saturday, a result which moved the south-coast club three points clear of the relegation zone.

Having produced a rearguard action to collect a point at Molineux, Hughton’s men are expected to put on a similar display when they travel to north London to face Tottenham on Tuesday. Hughton says Brighton doesn’t have the players at their disposal to play their way out of trouble and has told the players they are going to have to fight if they want to stay in the top flight.

Hughton told The Argus: “This is what’s at stake. Ultimately at the end it’s only about getting enough points that will keep you in the division. “And everyone will do it different ways. There are the clubs that can play free-flowing football, have the attacking options that can get them goals and get them out of trouble. “And there are the level of clubs that it’s going to be a fight and we are one of those clubs.”
