Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane believes he is a top contender for the 2026 Ballon d’Or, particularly if England wins the 2026 World Cup.
Coming off an incredible 61-goal season with Bayern Munich, he noted that securing a major international trophy would cement his position as a favourite for the award.
“I’d be one of the favourites, definitely,” Kane told the club’s website. “Given the trophies I’ve won this season and the number of goals I’ve scored, I’d be in the running.

“Especially as, should England win the World Cup, one could imagine the trophy going to an English player.” This honest assessment highlights his clear understanding that club form alone might not be enough.”
“When you look at who the current favourites are to win the Ballon d’Or, there’s Michael (Olise), the Champions League finalists and me,”
Kane will be hoping to deliver a first tournament success since 1966 over the summer, boosting his chances immensely at winning the Ballon d’Or, something that hasn’t been won by an Englishman since Michael Owen in 2001.
The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony is scheduled to be held in London.
