I Want To Follow In Van Persie’s Footsteps At Feyenoord – Dessers

Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has confessed that he is enjoying learning at the foot of the living legend, Robin Van Persie.

Dessers, whose brace rescued a 2-2 draw for Feyenoord against Peter Olayinka’s Slavia Prague in the Uefa Europa Conference League on Thursday, told Sporza as quoted by VoetbalPrimeur that he’s delighted getting more goal scoring tips from Van Persie.

The former Holland intentional is currently an assistant manager at Feyenoord, where he works directly with Dessers as a striker trainer.

“I grew up with Van Persie in the shirt of Arsenal, Manchester United, Feyenoord and Oranje,” Dessers tells Sporza as quoted by VoetbalPrimeur.

“It is very special to work with him. I try to absorb his tips. I can’t let anything slip.”

You see this nigga gat no super eagle’s influence or no African player influenced his career. That’s the point! This might affect his style of play blend/integration with the super eagle’s. He is good but not sure of the energy and strength. They are whatever you need to face those rugged African defenders in the Afcon…Club football or the Netherlands team football is different from African football. Na so so whity whity things full in head. Altleast he should have mentioned kanu nwankwo, finidi george or Sunday oliseh they all played in the Netherlands

You don’t have sense. Just see your life.

    • That’s complete BS you just spilled now.
If you don’t know the dude, keep quiet.
Some of us have followed this guy for 4 years now.

Fuck you all! Ama still stand on ground mehn.what I just spilled is deeper for all you shallow minded dick heads.. Don’t be fooled..you think I give a pussy about his exploit in Netherlands? The guy doesn’t have the physicality and strength of African football.. oh my God this is where am gonna be missing energetic warrior osimehn. look at your Leon balogun and ekong them, small thing Dem don dey gasp for breath. Instead of us to find defenders than can match the same class and ruggedity of their taribo west, rigorbet song great African defenders back in the days, we went to bring some half cast whity dick heads.. And soon we will be bringing dessert… If ya like get me wrong all you can..desserts is good but is he super eagle’s material???

  • Dessers is a super eagles material, He reminds me of Peter Osaze, I can remember Victor Agali and Yakubu Aiyegbeni fail to score for super eagles in the opening match against morocco in 2002 AFCON, There where also send home during 2002 AFCON, there was no hope but God raised Osaze to rescue us. No one gave him a chance. I believe Dessers can create a big impact if Rohr give him chance in 2022 AFCON

@Elico see forget say Osaze na half cast o….He is a different breed and beast put together. Remember that he started his career with Bendel insurance of those days in the Nigerian Priemier league. So he understands the setup of African football. He was nurtured and built for it bro!

I don’t have a problem with Dessers. Like I said he is a good striker. But I have problem with some forumites here that any small thing they would be shouting oya Rohr invite dessers, oya Rohr invite ifunanya, oya rohr invite chiamaka without thinking deep.

  • Yeah they are right, Dresser and many more are better than most forwards Rohr is always shielding from real competition for shirts in the Super Eagles. The basis for inviting players to any National team is the active perfomance of players in their clubsides but Rohr shun most of our active players for below average players and that is why he has failed to build a real crack team in his almost six years in Nigeria. I remember the late Amodu Shuaibu of blessed memory was denied the opportunity to take the Super Eagles to the World Cup twice after qualifying us just because he could only win Bronze at Afcon that preceeded both World Cups. Samson Siasia was sacked after playing a draw with Guinea in Nigeria. Why are we hero worshiping this below average oyinbo coach. SAMSON SIASIA is better than him

Siasia did this and that, Amodu shauibu won bronze. Wetin Rohr win? Na brazier abi?

  • WHY DOES ROHR PREFER PLAYERS PLAYING IN SAUDI ARABIA, GERMAN SECOND DIVISION AND THOSE IN TURKEY TO PLAYERS PLAYING IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, GERMAN FIRST DIVISION AND THOSE PLAYING IN EUROPA COMPETITION.
WHY DOES HE USE “EXPERIENCE” AS AN EXCUSE TO IGNORE YOUNG PLAYERS WHO ARE DOING VERY WELL IN THEIR CLUBS AND INSTEAD CALL UP AND START OLDER PLAYERS WHO HAVE PLAYED THEIR BEST FOOTBALL IN THE PAST AND HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING IN THE TEAM.
THE COACH HAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED SUPER EAGLES FANS. HE STARTED WELL WITH TAKING YOUNG PLAYERS TO THE LAST WORLD CUP BUT SINCE THEN HE HAS DONE NOTHING OF NOTE TO IMPROVE THE TEAM. ITS TIME GOR HIM TO GO. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN LET GO SOONER BUT I GUESS THE NFF WERE WAITING FOR THE QUALIFIERS TO BE OVER. ANYONE EXCEPT SALUSI CAN TAKE OVER THE TEAM BECAUSE THE PLAYERS, TALENT AND ABILITY IS THERE. ITS JUST FOR THE NEW COACH TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE USE OF THESE PLAYERS AND ALSO INVITE THE RIGHT PLAYERS AND DROP THOSE PLAYERS WHO ADD NOTHING TO THE TEAM.
