If You’re Not Happy, You Can Leave – Ancelotti Reads Riot Act To Iwobi, Others

Everton coach, Carlo Ancelotti has warned Super Eagles star, Alex Iwobi and other players who are unhappy with his selection method to leave the club next season.

Ancelotti made this known in a press conference ahead of today’s game against Wolves at Goodison Park.

Everton are currently ninth in the Premier League table but could finish anywhere from sixth to tenth.

The Italian tactician said: “I don’t want to have players here who are unhappy,” Ancelotti said. “If there are some players that are not happy to stay where they can ask to leave.

“That is for all players. There is no player I can force to stay here. But I told them this recently. They know. If someone is not happy they have to leave.”

“An unhappy player is not going to be a good part of this project.” He said

Ancelotti said it. When Iwobi got called up for super eagles, he was putting his frustration on social media about everton, which was a childish thing to do. Ancelotti said he was going to give him a chance and let him play in a position he wants to play. But watching Iwobi play is very lackluster. Arsenal sold him because they thought he reached his sealing and wasn’t giving enough nor consistent. The same is happening with everton. I understand the hunger Iwobi has, but he just not good enough. And he can have his relatives come and advocate for him (Jay Jay), but it wont change a thing. A nasty attitude is bad to have in the locker room. Iwobi is becoming to frequent with his displeasure at everton. He might be gone this summer.

Iwobi may not be commanding a regular shirt in Everton but he has been productive with the Super Eagles. The stats are there to prove. Not every good club players turns out great for their national sides. Some past great Super Eagles players did not play for top club sides neither did they consistently comnand regular club football. We should encourage our own especially in their times of struggle. Kelechi Ihenacho recent success should be a lesson to the naysayers.

        God bless you.

      • Thank you machiavelli. Nigerians are too quick to condemn. Let him score one goal in one match and they change the song. Funny fellow. Iwobi is not good but he did well under Wenger. Iwobi is not good but he has great stats with eagles. Common iwobi move to another club. Look at lingard is doing in a small club. Iwobi move. Ancelotti is already failing with everton. He will be sacked soon.

Oh I know. Players play good for national team might not play well for the club and vice versa.

Let us please face fact and put sentiment apart. If you were the coach, who among the midfielders will you bench for Iwobi? It you were SE coach and have such midfielders in Everton at your disposal, will you ignore them and call Iwobi? In Arsenal Iwobi deteriorated and we said the coach don’t like him or perhaps they needed money and now at Everton the coach don’t like him as well. Look at Saka a kid in Arsenal, plays in any position and do well. Last season he played left back and had the most assist in Arsenal. This season plays right wing and score goals, midfield and did well. Can you say such about Iwobi?from the day Iwobi was promoted arsenal senior team till he left, what he contributed can’t be compared with what saka that just came in to the senior team has contributed. My fellow SE fans please let put sentiment apart. Just take a look at Benzema, he returned to form and got his invitation and that is what I expect in our dear SE and not based on what one has done in the past. God bless us

    • Iwobi is a talented and good player. Some managers just don’t know how to bring out the best in certain players or give them the opportunity thrive in their preferred position/roles. Does not mean they are bad player or even bad managers. Look at how long it took for Brenden Rodgers get the best out of Iheanacho. Same is the case with Iwobi and if you have truly watched him play you will know he thrives more centrally and in a free role. He keeps the attack fluid, helps move the ball between the lines and drags opposition players out of position with his movements. If you noticed when he doesn’t play or play well super eagles attack is lethargic. When he is on point we play more free flowing attacking football. Yes he does well sometimes when moved to the wings or wing back roles but his best position remains behind the striker. If you noticed all SE games opposition coaches usually name Iwobi as the one to watch out for because they know if they keep him quiet very likely be a difficult day for the SE attack. Why do you think they gave him a fake corona virus result? Of all the players in the SE they picked him out to incapacitate the SE. If coach Rohr is really paying attention he should find someone to take over when Iwobi is tired or even play with one DM and two AMs with one more inclined to help defensively. I would say a 4-1-2-3. Can pair him with Aribo or Iheanacho behind the strikers. Or one can substitute for each other to keep the attack fresh and going for 90+ mins. This is why eagles attack usually fizzles out around 60-70mins into games because Iwobi runs hard and almost all out positive attacking movements goes through him which makes him tire out. Also he has gotten used to playing against both African and European opponents.

    • Go and send him out of Everton na….the way you people sent him out early this season because he had an injury before season started and did not play the first few games… Anceloti has sticked with him to show you guys that he believes in him… you people should leave iwobi alone o….he is not our problem now…. Nigerian national team has many issues and Iwobi is not one of them…. stop this hating

Germany has named their squad, Felix Udokhai and Felix Agu how far?. Italy has named their provisional squad, Angelo Ogbonna how far?. Very soon, England will name their squad then I will see how Dele Ali, Tomori, Tammy Abraham, Ross Barkley and Tosin Adarabioyo will make the squad. Eze is out through injury, until next year. Even Saka, we will see how Southgate love you. England has enterprising young guns in your position, ranging from Sterling, mount, Sancho plus 2 others, one in man city, one in man U. I pray you make the squad but its like you will be placed on standby.

Iwobi is as good as the coach is willing to understand the player. Ancelotti came from Newcastle and promised to lift Everton to the top four. He putting his failure on Iwobi and others for his usual mismanagement style. Ancelotti shall be gone before Iwobi. He will return to Italy. Mark my words.
