‘Ighalo Is Good, But Osimhen Is Exceptional Striker Who Can Get Better’ –Oliseh

Odion Ighalo is a good striker, but Victor Osimhen is an exceptional young player, former Super Eagles coach and captain, Sunday Oliseh has posited, Completesports.com reports

While fielding questions from Completesports.com in Abuja on Thursday on the recall of l Ighalo from retirement, Oliseh said only Gernot Rohr knew the motive for bringing the striker back from retirement and how he would use him in the midst of abundant talents at his disposal

“Gernot Rohr is the coach of Super Eagles and only him knows why he recalled Ighalo from retirement. Ighalo is good, but Victor Osimhen is an exceptional young player doing so well in a big league in Europe,” Oliseh remarked.

“You want me to compare Osimhen with the Late Rashidi Yekini? I will say Yekini with whom I played at Super Eagles is a natural and proven goal scorez but Osimhen is exceptional striker who can only get better

“He [Osimhen] is good with the ball on his feet, his movement with and without the ball is great and he is proving to be a good goals scorer too. Aside the physical difference, Osimhen has all the attributes of Baba Yekini plus his own natural talent. So I believe he can be better than Yekini if he doesn’t get carried away,” the former Super Eagles midfield ace stated.

For me, I will play Osimhen and Dessers together instead of Ighalo. Ighalo is not the kind of striker you can rely on. Out of ten chances, he can only score one or two. Am I lying? Statistics are there for us to see now. I love Ighalo and he has experience no doubt but in terms of scoring, I will choose Dessers ahead of Ighalo and Osimhen.

This is why I am not satisfied with Oga Rohr and Amaju by calling Ighalo back into the SuperEagles squad. Super Eagles realy needed a coach who can read each player individually.

When and how to use players to beat our opponents. Can Oga Rohr bench Ighalo for Osimhen? Can Oga Rohr bench Osimhen for Dessers? Chai, abomination ni yen kę. The coach can’t risk that kę.

Back in Afcon 2000, Amokachi was injured but we had Aghahowa, Akwegbu and Chukwu. When you see Jo, you see tactics, confidence and good football with patterns. Same thing applies to Westerhof.

Am still wondering why Oga Rohr still with the Super Eagles because NFF have no time to waste with any coach like this and not to talk of what Oga Rohr who has been there over the five years with the team.

Yes, he’s meeting the target but what can he show for it, Bronze medals? With this caliber of players under him? Amaju have finished Nigeria.

If you know you know kę. Corruption.

Since we don’t have a coach and Amaju is in charge of the Super Eagles, don’t expect too much from our boys. The current squad is capable to win the next Afcon and go far dar ahead at the next world cup but again, the coaches have no ideas how to use their tools to get the job done for them.

If we like, we can ask Messi or Ronaldo to join Super Eagles, Oga Rohr still have no way out.

We still have Ebuehi, Dessers, Ejeria, Lookman and Sodiq to say the least but our world class coach doesn’t have confidence in these young talented players. No wonder he called back Akpeyi and Ighalo. Doesn’t that make any sense?

If yes, in what way? For sure if we qualify for world cup, what are we going to do at the world cup since the gaffer is having problem to play against MO Salah and to make things worst, Amaju also said he which Super Eagles do not play Morocco, Algeria, Senegal and Egypt. That means Super can only compete with small teams in Africa?

So, we should continue to deceive ourselves by playing against CAR and Cape Verde and we were celebrating as if we won the world cup?

The way it stands now, we still don’t have a team yet but individual players. We saw the difference against CAR in those encounters.

For Super Eagles to be as strong as never before, a new set of coaching crew is very needed and also, new NFF president.

Wether Ighalo score or not, wether we qualify to the world cup or not, why Oga Rohr can not do without Ighalo and Akpeyi?

You wanted to talk about experience ba? Where was Ighalo and Akpeyi experiences against Algeria and Argentina?

The ealer we realize that Oga Rohr is holding Super Eagles backward the better. God luck to our Super Eagles. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
